Miles of extremely muddy, flooded and frozen byways and tracks. Water mostly, one, to one and a half feet deep. Beautiful winters' day: blue skies, an invigorating cold wind and temperatures around zero (or less than 5 Celsius). Enjoyable!

Sailing into the sunset. Quite literally, freezing cold on deck! Some small patches of ice on the boat seating, but fortunately not underfoot. Did the full round trip of the lake in the fresh air - very 'bracing'.

Panoramic, including a frozen Red Tarn, which I did walk on later that afternoon.

Good fun! Ran up this section again, once I put the camera away. Most enjoyable - and the crunchy sound of spikes in ice - both satisfying and therapeutic.

Panoramic point of view from a little way down the north facing slope of Striding Edge before sunset. A serenely still and quiet end to a very cold, beautiful blue sky and icily invigorating day on the fells.
