This song reminds me of Fade Into You by Mazzy Star, one of my mother's favorite songs. She passed away in 2017 from cancer. I miss her. She was so beautiful. Her full, brown eyes and her luscious, thick black hair. I remember it slowly falling off. She cut it into a bob, I thought nothing of it.I remember taking pictures with her. She adored photography. I remember going into that eerie, dark hospital room just to see my mother. I remember looking at my dad and asking, "Daddy, why are her lips blue?" "Because there isn't any blood flowing anymore." he'd reply. I remember going to the gazebo outside the hospital and sitting in my dad's lap in the rocking chair. We were both crying. I'd never seen my dad cry. I was seven. A few years later, my dad remarried. My step-mom is lovely, don't get me wrong. She's one of the sweetest and most patient souls on the planet. But oh, how I miss my mother. I got a dog when she was still alive, and he sleeps with me every night. He's my puppy. I don't think I would have made it without my dog. I miss my mother.
