Bourton on the water is lovely but gets busy, parking is vey close to the village though and lots of cafes to take a rest. Castle Combe is also very pretty, if you drive in from the south of the village you can drop her off then drive up to the car park. Lacock is just on the border of the Cotswolds but is National trust so plenty of parking there and in the village…the abbey and village are spectacular! I hope this helps ☺️.

It is so beautiful! The castle was closed today but it was still a great visit with a walk along the beach ☺️

@travelberries3 Alnwick Castle (they filmed part of Harry Potter there), Alnwick Gardens (its beside Alnwick Castle although unfortunately they're 2 separate tickets, best visited in the spring/summer time), Lindisfarne Island , Chillingham Castle and you can actually stay at Langley Castle, it's an amazing 700 year old Castle with amazing interior 😉 😀

@@sammi3004 thanks for the recommendations, we went to Alnwick which was amazing and my daughter had a broomstick lesson! We will hopefully be back soon to see the other sights you mentioned ❤

@travelberries3 there's also Vindolanda which is a Roman Fort in Northumberland which is really interesting if you like that kind of stuff, my dad's house was within walking distance of there, I spent many a day there as a child, really spurred my interest and understanding of history. There's sections of Hardrians wall you can visit too. 2000 years old, and a lot is still standing. We have the Great North Museum, displays of animals, Egyptians, dinosaurs, etc and the Discovery Museum, local history and engineering, etc. here in Newcastle Upon Tyne which have some great displays. The Baltic on the Newcastle/Gateshead Quayside is an art museum with an amazing viewing deck over the River Tyne and bridges. The whole city of Newcastle is beautiful and rich with history, mostly built by Earl Grey (yes, the tea is named after him) who is atop of a monument in the city centre. We also have the Castle Keep and original city walls in parts of it still here in the city. For football lovers St James Park (Newcastle Uniteds ground) is smack in the middle of town and they do stadium tours. I love the North East, can you tell? 😍 I was born and bred here, true Geordie 👍 ⚫️ and ⚪️ in my veins. Even my surname is White 🤣
