Swing It Like Tommy! TRS Ball Review
I know you're able to add some layers to size up, but how about those that play with jumbos?
@@Kpeg9 I believe they are a start up brand and more grip types to come as they grow
64.95!!! made my own.
Great review, definitely unbiased!
I’m thrilled with mine for practice in garden. I don’t mind the thickness and it’s good practice varying the height of the ball. I press down less firmly to practise balls higher than my feet.
Super helpful dude. Thanks
You didn’t show us how stable
@@JamesBeattie-lz9cc sorry check out my instagram there are lots of videos showing the stability.
Check out this link to set-up correctly - I missed a fold in the device, sorry - ruclips.net/video/qAiCEPzwYpA/видео.htmlsi=6i7gnmienjgNxglY
That doesn't look as though it's set up correctly. One more arm should fold out for your left foot.
No other arms to fold out - left foot in the front zone.
You may want to look at the product website, or some other videos that are out there. You don't have that set up the same way in your video compared to the "how to" video put out by manufacturer.
@ thanks for the feedback
Just got one for Christmas. Excited to take it out! Hello from North Carolina!
Like MOST new golf stuff, this thing is painfully oversold and overpriced. The statistics and Lee Trevino say that 90% of amateur golfers never get their shots all the way to the hole. Time after time after time public and private amateurs come up woefully short. The trend to stop the ball on a dime only means your approach is going to be that much shorter. There is no chance for a roll out if you are shredding the polymers and coating on your ball. If you can not get your ball pin high, then take more club, save time and money and forget about groove edges. A pro will hit upwards of a thousand balls a week or more. These people expect precision and they need the ball to stop to the point they are trying to hit. They can get a brand new set of irons anytime they want. They do not have time to sharpen grooves. They are too busy throwing darts at a bullseyes. $150 for this thing is foolhardy.
Yo how many layers of tape did you use? If only 1, do they feel to soft and mushy?
@@Floki6753 one is fine they are a nice thick grip.
@garethshawgolf oki thanks!
I have to ask, what is the point of teeing it up with the mat and the driver
@@kevinjager124 if the ground is muddy and uneven, it may affect your takeaway
@ that would be some messy tee box if that was the case but point taken 😂
Superb review! Interesting training aid!
Whats hilarious about the swish is i havent see one bit og promotion material where they lift the ball out and its clean You can seevin every video a dirty ball come out before they drop it in a Towel and wipe it dry easily there ahahaha
Ok, went out, ordered one. Five rounds in, ready to pack it in. Here's a thought: Yes, Vokey is a "blade" wedge. This one is forged, has a smaller "appearing head"", and feels "buttery smooth". Yet, it being marketed as "forgiving" while having the appearance and "feel" of a "blade". On reflection, and considering how poorly these have translated from my Ping Glide 4.0 set, this was an expensive mistake. Would return them if I could, but caveat emptor, read their "return" policy carefully. Not for me, not impressed with the company, YMMV.
How has this lasted? Any damage?
Great net, little bit of rust on poles but apart from that, really rate it.
I named mine faucet 51 degrees
As nice as it looks I could never justify $429 usd for a 9' piece of carpet, 3 plastic "cups" and a piece of wood. So damn overpriced
@@scottduncanphotography1671 good point
I’m used to playing with midsize grips, how do these compare if you’re able to make a judgement?
@@jlee7294 they compare well to a golf pride standard, mid-size etc… grip, but the ridges give a form hold and great feel.

Hi Gareth, I am planning to buy a couple of these gloves from Amazon. Just curious to know how it held up over time? Also, when you said it's snug, do you need to go up one size compared to other gloves?
They last so well, I am currently using Claw Golf, available from EGN golf in UK. I have two gloves that I rotate and worn for 5 months, using them 3-4 times a week and they are showing hardly any wear.
Thanks for the reply and for getting me onto the Claw Golf glove. I just read the reviews and they look like the glove I need. My hands sweat quite a bit and therefore I go through a load of gloves each season. Would you say the sizing of Claw Golf gloves would be the same as the sizing for all the big name brands?
@@garymacdonald2596 yes same sizing as a regular glove.
You sound like a stokie where’s your local course bud? I’m at Ingestre
Thanks. One year later, still using? Still like? Durability for 1 year use? Thanks. Would be interested? Also would like to know if you align on the different sizes. Meaning do the sizes really match what they recommend or should one go smaller? Thanks again.
Used for a little while then I felt I got the natural feel the device was trying to get me in. Size wise felt a little snug, so my feedback would be if they had different size options that would be great.
$200 for 2.0, will 3.0 be $300? Ridiculous for steel head on steel shaft. Their cost must be about $30 per club.
Steel head? Totally forged head and you can customize your shaft. I chose the KBS PGI 90 graphite shaft as I play KBS PGI 100's on my irons and can't wait to get them in my bag. No other manufacturer offers this kind of customization and if you learn about the design and why it's better than the tour wedges, then maybe you would give them a try. Why spend $500 on a driver that you don't use on every hole? Most of my money in my bag is in the bottom - wedges and putter used on every hole (putter) or nearly every hole (wedges).
Or just draw a line on your ball.
Some people struggle with a line when over the ball, but if you can make adjustments and stand over the ball with full commitment. The aid is just another option for people to try and help them improve their game.
Finally someone points out the fact that “there is no such thing as muscle memory”. A huge misconception and you hear it all the time. I think it was the legendary sports psychologist Bob Rotella talked about this way back some 50 years ago. As Gareth correctly eludes to, it’s the brain that you need to train not your muscles.
A £1.50 nail brush does exactly the same job
I get what you are saying but it takes so long to do and creates lots of mess
@@garethshawgolf what !! I dont think so ! Ive been cleaning my grips with a nail brush for years ! It makes no mess at all Lets be honest your grip thing dripping water all over the place makes loads more mess ! A sink of hot soapy water a nail brush how does that make a mess !
@@paulburton210 whatever works best for you, I am just sharing new to market products that are out there for all golfers.
The trident…for fans of Maserati sports cars 🔱
Similar to what one aspect the zen oracle putter could do. They aren't made any more though and this can be fitted to any putter. Thanks for the info.
I can recommend this device as well!
The guy that designed these clubs is as good or better and more knowledgeable than Bob vokey. Look up his history of wedge design. His name is Terry Koehler. Not sure I spelled that right though.
Total generous Terry Koehler
Judging by the wear normal golf mats get, I can't see this thing last for too long before wear&tear takes over. Cool idea though.
Thank you for your comment, Harris! Wow great product and review. Didn’t expect it’ll withstand the chunk shots that well, didn’t see much scratch there from here
I was struggling with my Vokey's, bought a 59 to try of these, absolutely love them, very forgiving and they stop on a dime.
So pleased glad the review helped.

I was able to use this aid right from the start correctly. But my swing faults persist :( . Think I need an in person teacher
Coaching is always the best choice, find a coach that can help you and in turn recommend a training aid to suit your swing and correct your swing fault.
Thanks… I purchased one… Q: how often do you suggest to use it? (High handicapped amateur, one round per month but chipping and pitching at least once a week in the training area)
Once a month, just run the sharpener over, just to keep them sharp
Great video. Hope to see some more videos on these wedges. Would be great to see the numbers vs others on the market and maybe some shots on and around the green. Maybe even get an average golfer who struggles a little to hit wedges and see a 5-10 shot group.
I got one, great wedge
For $85 US it is just too expensive. There are other ways to clean and sharpen your grooves.
I ordered this but they refuse to ship for several weeks. Do not order they just take the money and refuse to send. I've had to charge back my card.
'Promo sm'
I picked up the GrooVex because it’s not a sharpener, it’s for groove restoration. This restores or modifies the grooves to the max legal limit. The tool will stay true to form because it’s made from solid carbide. The edges won’t wear down like other steel tools so you don’t have to worry about taking too much off. Just run it through a few times and the groove is restored back to form.
Hi. Do I need the medaljon on me. Or Can I leave it on the bag.

I don't buy toilet rolls. Will this work just as well with a bedet?
Hi G, how much were the customs charges on the order? Great review
Not sure Neil, the company covered in total costs, but check out there website should give you a gauge.
