So it not just my dad, brother and I that have noticed that England are constantly passing the ball back to Pickford. When we were playing Denmark and at 92 minutes (4 minutes injury time) the whole England team pushed up into Denmark’s half and Pickford was just inside the circle of England’s own half so he kicks the ball up to Denmark’s penalty area and what do England do? Pass the ball back to Pickford who’s still just inside our own half, so I threw my hands up in the air in complete disbelief and disgust. I’ve watched most of all the games at Euro 24 and noticed how no other team is passing the ball back constantly be it to the keeper or last defender. And when they’re not playing it back they’re playing it sideways, how we’ve made it to the semifinals god knows. I’m sure England are playing so badly that Southgate gets fired
@@nichhodge8503 I've said the same thing, I just don't get it. Instead of attacking with the ball they just retreat and pass it back to Pickford, I dont like how he keeps coming off his line, one of these games it's going to backfire and the opposing team are going to score because he can't get back to the goal quickly enough.

i can remember a (very slightly) similar thing happening in the 1970 World Cup 3rd/4th place game between West Germany and Uruguay. The Uruguayan anthem was rather long-winded with lots of gaps and hesitations, and at one point the German players - assuming it had finally ended - broke rank and ran off to warm up. They hurriedly had to return and form a very un-German straggly line when they realised the anthem was only half way through.
