@@ActionMattGreen yeah we're good, dodged a bullet really. But Asheville and other mountain towns here are shut down in and out. Only access currently is by air. There was much lost in Western NC. Our area didn't get hit hardly but now some of the flooding is working it's way down into our rivers, the Peedee and Yadkin. Glad everyone is safe on your end, I hear Eastern Tennessee got it bad too.

The surrounding area took a hard hit. We were lucky.

I think it makes more sense to focus on the ones that never deteriorate and stay around for long periods of time. Those should be the ones we reuse the most, and produce less of non recyclable materials. Put a limit on production no matter the demand. That would force a material revolution.

@@ActionMattGreen forcing revolutions always ends up with large numbers of people put against walls or starved to death… But I would like to see a better world. I would certainly like to see a focus on either making plastics, more recyclable or shifting away from plastics where possible

I would be happy to start with some regulations, more commonly known ones, and more open information about plastics. I am working on ways to recycle, and turn a profit to put towards more recycling.

18% is very close to 20%. This is how normal and math literate people talk. “Did you know 18% of a landfill is plastic?” “Wow that’s about a fifth of the landfill!”. Would you prefer that he say nine fiftieths? Because that doesn’t actually mean anything to most people.

I worked at a grocery store twenty years ago and they had theirs bin were you could bring back plastic bags for recycling. I thought that was a wonderful idea until I had to empty it. I asked were to put the bags the manager said take it to the back and put into the dumpster. It went to the landfill anyway 😮😢. Why even put the bin out there if it's going to the trash anyway😢

I would then have years and so many financial situations invested in and through this evil corporation. What then happens to my good nights sleep. How many lives were effected bc they done something I could never have known about. No thanks. I'll just stay clear of them all but continue to be a consumer. Keep it simple.
