At 0:07, the policemen on the right, are they polish auxiliaries or germans police? They look polish Did polish police guard the ghettos with the germans?
Their distinct blue uniforms and the armband that I believe says "Generalgouv...(unreadable but possibly be the German word Generalgouvernement)" may denote them as members of the Blue Police (Granatowa policja). They are Polish police officers that were forcibly mobilized from the prewar Policja Państwowa (Polish State Police). I think the reason why the Blue Police was in this scene was because the ghetto seemed to be separated by a street that non-Jewish citizens were also using and it might have been considered as outside the jurisdiction of the Jewish Ghetto Police. I may be wrong (and please correct me) but I believe this scene was before the Germans decided to create an overpass to connect the two ghettos therefore nullifying the need to place any German soldiers or Polish police officers to control the traffic.
The thing that annoys me about most period pieces is the clothes. They look way too new and clean. People back then didn’t have nearly as many outfits as they do today. They also didn’t wash their clothes or bathe as often, and streets were far more dusty and dirty. If you look at candid historical photos of people on the street, everyone’s clothes, besides the extremely wealthy, looks old and dirty in comparison to today.
That most Jews were rich. If you look at pictures and films from prewar Poland, the Jews are practically emaciated. My father was born in a village in Poland, he subsisted on potatoes and never gained full stature. A roll and butter was a treat. Obviously many were rich too and some communities were well off, like in Hungary and parts of Germany. Not many Polish Jews.

When I watched this at first, it was quite painful. But after the series of torture, and cruelty the leftovers of the tribe inflicted onto others and the lies they covered up, I think The Pianist may be my favourite fictional comedy!
When he first grabs the old man and makes him dance in German he says.. ja das ist schon (thats nice).. the guard walking through the crowd was saying when did A Street become a Jewish dance floor- juden tanzen plotz
I found it to be an act of kindness by the guards. The Jews were suffering in the ghetto, which the guards could clearly see. It's possible they thought dancing might cheer-up the crowd.
thats right, thats how I feel about it, before seeing this film I did not know that The German Soldiers were so nice, caring and warm hearted to the jews
Potatoes, potatoes , everyday same thing to eat, potatoes
See? Germans know to have a good time! Natural born mood makers.
Hahaha dance juden dance 😂
These bullyings trully happened there, makes me wonder about human nature.
Such a wholesome scene, people finding joy in such a bad environment!
Der verlogene Dreck derer... der Tag wird kommen...

For once, they couldn't charge us for their bullshit entertainment.
When the jocks make the nerds dance, same concept high school = nazi germany.
People in the 40s doing their thanggg!
While a German officer could save a Jewish musician from the holocaust, no one can save little children from Roman Polanski
0:35 short dude is like "this is the happiest day of my life"
I love it how belligerent norm is when he flips the bird and says yeah well fuck you. Cracks me up every time
This is what being an introvert at a party feels like

The name’s not boy, it’s Roy. Roy Munson!
Womp womp. The Jews inflict the same insanity and isolation they faced to the Palestinians in Gaza now.
do Muslims do nothing but lie?
Average delusional pro Palestinian
I’m Jewish. As much as I hate what happened to my ancestors. I enjoy the history.

What is the name of the song in 00:45 ? I remember the same song from another ww2 movie "Train de Vie".
It’s a Jewish Klezmer song called “Tantz Tantz Yidelekh”
This movie is one of my favorite comedies
You're so edgy
The soldiers are kind and they just want to make people happy and dance. I think this is a sweet scene!
Are you serious?!? They are bullying the Jews, it is obvious.
Die können schlecht tanzen so emotionslos und steif.
Ja.. aber ist gut
This is how they treat Palestinians
This aged well like kosher milk
Shows that at least some German soldiers were compassionate and tried to lighten the mood for the suffering Jews.
TikTok
And now we are being snarlingly addressed as "Whites", " White males", etc.
Humans gonna human, get good at violence, draw your line in the sand and don't f***ing move an inch.
Imagine saying the bullshit you said ,those are soldiers with helmets and guns against sick eldery and kids and some man
@ultimatedark5969 yeah, and if we did that, things like this would be stopped VERY short.
This same Israel make with palestines now xD
No the palestinians fight back not like you in 1942 with no resistance like pussies 😂😂
Thing is, as bad as it looks, they're legit trying to get them to lighten the mood. It's not like they're killing anyone.
They are trying to humiliate them, not lighten the mood
0:24 - He's speaking in rhythm 😂 I believe it was intentionally done
That was funny as hell😂
@@OldSchoolRemixe No he said now we will clear the street for a jew dancefloor
Wtf are these people talking about? This scene shows them dancing and playing music and everyone is saying that this is depressing.
Imagine the Chinese invade America, isolate you like second class citizens and force you to dance to their music. Are you autistic?
Are you stupid?
They made them dance to humiliate them.
