Wrong! You counted 9 at the dinner table. There were only 7. And you counted 1 guy twice, who’d already been shot, and was only wounded when he was shot again, when Smith takes on the whole saloon.

Seeing more scenes does not make a film better. To me, knowing all kinds of versions, the original Euro-Cut by Dario Argento is the superior version. It's extremely gory, very fast paced and the music by Goblin does its job.

Correction, there is a script note on the ALIEN 3 film that was posted/released about a Month and a half ago that shows that the supposed mistake of "FURY 16" in ALIEN RESURRECTION was not a mistake at all. In fact it was a simple issue of not addressing it on ALIEN 3 or be specified on A. RESURRECTION. FURY 16 is meant for the System where the Planet FIORINA 161 (nicknamed FURY 161, hence when shown on ALIEN 3 is has quotation marks) is, which orbits 2 Suns called "Fury 16A and Fury 16B" and as said, the system is FURY 16. This meant that Gediman was meaning the system, not the Planet. This can be confirmed.

According to the movie during his last action, Audie killed (or wounded) exactly 40 Germans. Guess how many rounds are in the ammo box attached to M2? Yes, exactly 50 when full. Seems the untold part of the story is that German infantry were lining themselves up behind each other in groups of five, shouted Heil before receiving a short burst from M2 and so on repeating the pattern 8 times. Spare ammo boxes were available inside the burning M10 under the turret floor, but no one ever mentioned Audie went there to search for spare ammo or even knew where to search. In a similar fashion 2 German Jagd Panthers (according to both German and US combat reports) grew into six in Award paperwork. No doubt the award was absolutely deserved, just in a real life the story is far less epic and attributable to a single person. In reality the German attack was repulsed by another battalion, artillery, anti-aircraft vehicle (likely quad M2), a pair of Shermans and tactical aviation, though Audie observed only fraction of that effort.

I first watched *Dawn of the Dead* when I was just 8 years old, and over 41 years later, it still resonates with me just as strongly. The Romero and Argento cuts each offer something unique, but I've always leaned toward the Argento cut as a masterpiece. Its tighter editing, intense music from Goblin, and refined sound effects-like the realistic gunshots and footsteps-give it an extra edge. It's darker, more focused on horror, and definitely less comical, with even more gore. While Romero’s cut allows for more character development and touches on satirical themes, Argento’s faster pacing and heavier emphasis on horror create a relentless atmosphere that keeps you on edge. Both versions are incredible in their own right, but there’s something about Argento’s approach that makes the film feel even more visceral and intense, and after all these years, I still feel that same thrill every time I watch it.

I have a very long history with this movie. In March of 1979 I went to see the animated Ralph Bakshi "Lord of the Rings". Before the movie - the Dawn of the Dead trailer was shown . At the time -- I did not even KNOW this was being made! I was so excited I could not focus on Lord of the Rings (the cartoon). LOL. I was all "Wait--it's in COLOR ?" Because I was a HUGE fan of Night of the Living Dead in black and white. I was just imagining what the movie would be like..... IT filled my head for months . April 1979. Saw it at the local drive in theatre . MIND BLOWN . It eradicated ALL OTHER horror movies I had seen before . It changed the way I look at and like movies. I have seen this more times than any other movie. I have shown this movie to more people than any other movie. (People that never saw it before). Day of the Dead was NOT anywhere NEAR as good BUT the YOUNGER DUDES (Freddy Krueger fans) seem to like it more than Dawn. They are idiots .

Argento's version is a butchery. Being good at your own craft doesn't mean you can necessarily re-interpret another director's vision well, apparently.

I actually love and prefer the Director's/Special edition version of ALL four of the original Alien films. I think they're all vastly superior to each theatrical cut, adding more to the story, characters, and lore.

Boost must be using slow-burning powder in his ammunition to give that big of a flash!

I absolutely cannot get over goofy The Gonk score used in the film. Nearly everything else (minus makeup) in the movie was perfect and would have aged flawlessly. Can someone from the 1970s please shed some light on why Romero AND Argento thought it was a good idea to use this score? Was it a meme at the time or what?

Nothing compares to the greatness of the iconic original trilogy Night, Dawn and Day of the Dead. They all had an eerie dark atmosphere with incredible sound design which modern zombie movies and TV shows are badly missing. Also, these were more like actual horror rather than CGI filled video game like action movies you see recently :-)

So, what's the best version of the film to watch- theatrical or special edition ? How about for the first time watching it?

I first saw this in the theatre in 199-whichever year it was (‘93 I think) and I’d just watched Aliens on VHS and I was a super excited 13 year old geared up to see where the story would take the THREE survivors from Aliens. The series had gone from dark survival horror in Alien, to high paced action horror in Aliens so in my mind I assumed they’d keep the tone at high paced action horror and my friends and I all talked about expecting an alien invasion of earth, humanity v xenomorphs because we all thought it would try being bigger than the second film, which multiplied the threat in the first. Then we saw the movie. Hicks and Newt die - bummer but okay we can still see the war on Earth-thing. They’re on a random planet - bummer, but okay perhaps still a war….the planet is a desolate penal colony with prisoners and no weapons. So my point is Alien 3 just took the main logical direction (I thought and still think a war between humans and xenomorphs on earth - forget part 4 - was the only logical route for the story to go in) - the film took all that just binned it and regressed back to a similar tone to the original film. If Alien and Aliens didn’t exist, and this was just some film where three people crash on a penal colony planet carrying a threat which gets revealed during the film - GREAT film, no argument there, but it just shits on the logical path it should’ve gone in and I’ll never like this film for that reason.

Yes, you're absolutely right! The additional footage only produced for the German television ist very important for the quality of the film! I don't understand why these film scenes were cut out! I first saw the film uncut on TV and a second time in cinema.I was disappointed by the shortened version! Thank you for your video!👏🏻
