To annihilate self delusion, ego’s existence, is self realisation itself, which is guru’s grace. There is only oneself being, there is no other knowledge. I always come back to Genesis 2:18 as the reason for all (apparant) multiplicity. So basically the teachings of Jesus (centered around love) are pretty much based on the ultimate understanding. So personally (no need to agree) the ego does not need to be destroyed because it serves a very good purpose. 😍

From my perspective of the duality between the master and the disciple even though both are equally realized is that once realization happens, there is no separate 'I' but there is a great gratitude that will be there but not a person experiencing gratitude, therefor it may appear as if there is two separate individuals. Ex: If you take Ramayana, there will be instances where Rama is appearing to be great grief and crying but in the next moment he is simply in himself as the self. This quoted by the Rishi vishwamithra who gives them upadesa that once you have realized yourself, the world is like a drama to be played, so in reference to our reality this could be compared to a lucid dream, where once you become realized, you know this a dream, therefor you simple play in it, but all that happens will not affect you because you know that it is a dream.

My observation is that the mind or the ego is almost like an Artificial Intelligence that is capable of determining where it can be happy and by constantly denying its needs and a place or an object for it to stand on, it reverts back to its source.

If ego enquires who am I, the answer will only ever be I is ego. If ego thinks it has existence, bodies also must have existence. When I thinks I am, a body appears to exist. I the appearance, is awareness having name or form. The i thought without form is reality. The I thought with form has ego. cx

David and Michael James are the most important people for us westerns to understand and follow Bhagavan! Their lives were and are an essential and sacred event that undoubtedly came from Arunachala and Ramana himself. Thank you so much!

The spirit of Sri Ramana Maharshi is still alive and well and active in the world today. At least that is how it seems to me. In 2024 I happened to encounter the documentary about his life, entitled "The Sage Of Arunachala", and as I listened to the story of Sri Ramana Maharshi, a profound peace and a deep joy welled up within me. It was a familiar peace, a familiar joy, as if for the first time in this lifetime I were remembering who I truly were and have been all along. The sense of original self, filled with joy and bliss, unafraid and immortal, felt as though it were who I have always been, and this life of the ego-self, the human, the citizen, the woman I have been, seemed like a kind of nightmare from which I was awakening at last. The feeling was so strong that I had to recognize it as the truth. I also felt a presence in the room with me, and it seemed as though some benevolent force or awareness, like an angel or a disembodied teacher, were watching me, and encouraging the transformation I was experiencing. It was the most important moment in my life, because ever since that night I have been practicing sadhana to the best of my abilities, and I have learned a great deal about Indian spirituality, history, philosophy and religion. I have learned how to function as a healthier, stronger, happier person than I have ever been in my life, and I am learning to exist in that state that hit me on that fateful night four years ago, although I haven't yet managed to remain in that state full time. Prior to that evening when Sri Ramana Maharshi entered my life, I knew NOTHING of about Indian spirituality whatsoever. I am convinced that had a merciful intelligence not intervened, I would never have encountered the documentary in question, and I wouldn't have been affected by it the way I was even if I had. There was something far more subtle and powerful afoot that night. I can't be sure if the intellect that had existed in the body we know as Sri Ramana Maharshi were present or not, so I am not claiming that "he visited me personally". That would be a ridiculous thing to assume, not the least because even during his lifetime, Sri Ramana Maharshi was not attached to his human form and identity much at all, so it seems unlikely that his spirit would still be in any way individuated from the SELF and interacting with the physical world in connection with the work that he did as an embodied form of God. Instead, I think that my own higher self introduced me to Sri Ramana right at the time when his life and teachings would have the most profound impact on my mind. What I'm saying is that Sri Ramana Maharshi's example, his life, the ripples of awareness that he set in motion in this world, are all still a potent force amongst embodied humans. Bhagavan Ramana was an emanation of Shiva Dakshinamurti. Shiva, is prakasha, he's ever silent and has no agenda, his teaching is in Being the svarupa and the only action of svarupa is silence. That is why there is no parampara, no lineage and no formal transmissions from Bhagavan Ramana. Thatnis why He Himself had not consider Himself as a guru, as He had not seen devotees or attach any sort of imperfection to the appearances - devotees. Gurutvam is already a human concept, arisen in the dream, for dream purposes. The only true Guru is always accessible in the Heart.

What he says about a master asking for money is according to Ramana a very good indicator that this is not a real enlightened master, made me think about the huge fraud that Eckhart tolle is, charging a lot for his conferences and making literally millions. And all with quotes he just copied from other masters!

When you mentioned your friend who had disappeared in the war, you touched on a question that I have been asking myself. The question of evil. What does the advaita have to do with the existence of evil? Thank you!
