1985 Suzuki LT50 Complete Rebuild! Even Gets New Rod on the Crank!
My buddy down the road got this for free from a newer neighbor. I asked to work on it. It didn't really have a lot wrong just exhaust was solid plugged so much that I had to cut it open to get it out, along with rusty gas tank, carb and had some rod play. This is a cool little atv his boys have been riding it for few months now and loves it!

      When I got the car the guy had the manual that ford shops had I have these three huige books one for the body, one for electronics and one for the engine. They are unlike any others I've seen but I did'nt use them unless needed torque specs. Growing up my mom had a base probe new in 93 and my dad got a new 93 GT so I already knew how to do timing belts just been a while. No the water pump was fine but since its behind the timing belt like on a few cars they suggest to change it when you do the belt.

    Come on hammer on it already

  • @mikeharmon8733
    @mikeharmon8733 4 месяца назад

    At about 23 seconds you say 5 or 7 thousands, that's actually the range. Having them tighter makes it harder to suck in fuel and air on the intake valve and harder to push out exhaust with the exhaust valve. Valve gaps typically get tighter, not looser. So it's best to set to the upper range.

    • @kartguy
      @kartguy 4 месяца назад

      Yes that's the acceptable range buddy. The tighter they are the more they open, if its loose they open less. In some engines you just want it open enough to suck air/fuel and it run optimal, but like this v-twin some bigger gulps help! Valves always rattle loose or wear themselves down way more often than a tight valve.

    • @kartguy
      @kartguy 4 месяца назад

      Every small engine I work on I have to re adjust valves they are always super loose barely opening the intake or exhaust. The ltz 400 I just got has bucket valves and it was so loose it was 10x over adjustment its on newer video. It was worst I ever seen and they were buckey valves.

      @@kartguy carter talon 125. Will turn over but won’t start. I changed the spark plug, it’s started for a sec and died. I changed carb, started for a sec and died. Cleaned the rust off the fly wheel and replaced the stator, started for a sec and died. Hasn’t started since then. I have replaced all the electric components except for the wiring harness.

      You can shave some out of the intake where the reed cage goes and quite a bit out of the exhaust. About a year ago I took this fully built and ported a Chinese jug and stock piston from the under skirts, intake and the exhaust a bunch and been running it a year with all the other mods. It performs damn near as good as the big bore did!

    Hey, im a big fan of your old 670cc Yerf dog series, and im also activly building a version of it myself with a Manco EzRider chassis. I was wondering where i would even buy the torque converters and such to build something like this, because this is my first build and ive got no clue on what im doing lol.

      Great to hear your building one! Thanks for watching buddy! I got my 780 TAV from Go Power Sports and used the same tranny on my 420, but ended up changing both thte primary drives out due to them not functioning properly. Red Beard's Garage and other use a Polaris clutch for the drive, if I can find out which one it was I'll let you know. I always forget though. You will enjoy building it just as much as riding buddy! Thanks for watching!
