its funny how Fat Joe or other rappers and contributors who arent fba could be so close to the active and still living founding fathers and their families, helping them fundamentally all these years behind the scenes. lets just assume he has those relationships because he's rubbed shoulders with ny icons. what is the fba movement doing for the considered pioneers who are foundational black. is tariq or Fba doing that, helping the founders of hip hop with any bills and life based shortcomings from the lack of reciprocity from the industry the pioneers built??? was tariq and them at the fallen soldiers of hip hop royalty funerals? ask him, but i doubt it. and i been a Tariq supporter for years. ijs. agree to disagree with insult. like an adult should. be a little responsible

Fat Joe is corny and wrong for what he said but there’s alot of exaggerated statements on this. This black/latino conversation has always been there since the 80’s, because that’s what it is. It is both, whether you like it or not, Ricans were just as much a part of hip hop. Majority of y’all aren’t even from NY/NJ and wouldn’t understand the relevance of the nation culture because you weren’t there. Stop getting gassed up by nonsense. Saying there this “agenda” is corny and is a new perspective on hip hop that they’re trying to indoctrinate.

Black people rapping and rhyming to tell our history since recorded time. The Songhai Empire in Africa where people on the corners were in the cities rhyming telling passers by how great the empire was. In the 1950's here in America, Black artist were doing gospel rhyming, Nipsy Russel put on a famous Broadway play rhyming. Rapping was our thing to to at house parties and later called hip hop. It's just has been our part of our culture period. Stop the lying and stealing culture vultures!!!

Let's say hypothetically Joe really thinks he's Black. Because in certain areas and places there are Latinos that roll with us %100. Is everything he says is racist or just an evaluation of the culture he lived all his life? The one issue he doesn't realize. About 99% areas outside his hood at least in U.S. deals in a separatist reality. Black Americans are just as separatist as African, if you not with us you are not Black. Sadly, it's our weakness, because Euro and North America may dislike one another, but they do agree and see one another as one and forecast their rule together. Thats why they dominate. They even find ways to get Japan and South Koreans to feel white. They enjoy letting other join their dominance. Even Blacks. Why we cannot let shit slide and leave race alone and be welcoming to those that live the struggle, but we steadily trapped in a mind of separatist. I'm sure he has family that darker than dark. We don't know we are playing ourselves not being welcoming to others. We never see the big picture. We have to understand that we are trying to find our place against a people that plan shit even hundreds of years ahead.

Black Americans should absolutely be proud of what this original black music has accomplished globally and appreciate and respect the connection to the lineage to the birth of the culture. What yall shouldn't do is think by default each and every FBA is more in tune to the culture than "other than" or ,"non" blackouts don't have a much more direct lineage or connection to the birth of the culture than 98.7% percent of yall that haven't lived it but rather learned it. Not a single perp or squeak, motion or mention by none of you guys attempting to so called correct or rather rewrite the narrative thaat took 40 plus years after the fact to concentrate on this clear agenda, agenda specific, unclear shift on re imagining of who is what and who is not. Hip hop is black first. Latinos is 2nd But Hip hop is NYC first. The rest of america second. A day one foundational black New Yorkerr has the most acceptable voice or narrative giver if this cultue.. . But why yall orchestrate this agenda so many decades after the birth??????? Its not very hip-hop of yall. So its very legitimate to respect the clarity non FBA foundational Hiphopper got just as much claim😅 to be the authority o

Peace and unity to all, Coke La Rock, often credited as hip-hop's first MC cites the Last Poets among his influences. I am honored to share that my brother, Felipe Luciano, stands as one of the revered LAST POETS-a true legend in the realm of art and activism. Moreover, he carries the proud heritage of being Puerto Rican, embodying the fusion of cultural strength and artistic expression. From what I understand, the origins of Hip Hop are deeply rooted in the ingenuity of Black creators, who birthed this revolutionary movement. At the same time, Puerto Ricans and other communities of color were instrumental in shaping and building this culture during its early days. A perfect example of this is the trailblazing work of DJ Disco Wiz and Grandmaster Caz. Together, they created the first mixed plate in Hip Hop history, blending sound bites, special effects, and paused beats-a groundbreaking innovation that set the stage for generations to come. Disco Wiz also became the first Latino DJ to release a Hip Hop record in 1981, marking a pivotal moment in the genre's evolution. This rich tapestry of contributions reminds us of an essential truth: we are stronger together. Black and Latino communities have stood side by side, not only in creating art but also in forging paths of resilience, solidarity, and progress. Our shared histories and intertwined futures highlight a profound necessity for unity. No matter how we interpret the journey, one thing remains clear: we need each other. If we embrace our collective strength, respecting and celebrating our unique contributions while working toward a common purpose, we can move into the future with greater power and possibility. Together, we are unbreakable. Let us continue to uplift one another, honor our shared legacy, and build a future rooted in unity and collaboration. Peace, love, and respect always.

I’m a black American Tariq Nashid is a loony he’s not factual with a lot of his information. He had a company with another friend and the company split. He took 1/2 of the company and he formed the Fba organization but now he’s saying it’s not a organization once fat Joe made a statement that Joe was not talking about the whole Black America. He was talking about to reach the she and his organization and also to read. She said that there was no Puerto Rican MC’s in the 70s that’s a lie because the first Puerto Rican MC was 1977 in New York MC Ruby D. and also Cuban link and fat Joe have beef Cuban link is not factual and I don’t agree with Fat Joe on the 50-50 on hip-hop. I will say 6040 because like I said before MC will be DK 1977 the break dancing in the graffiti with all the other Latino influence and Jamaican and there still is a lot of Caribbean influence and hip-hop. A lot of the MC’s from the early hip-hop were from the Caribbean and you also had a lot of black MC’s.

The recent controversy surrounding Fat Joe's comments on the N-word highlights a complex issue. In communities of color within NYC, the N-word has been used colloquially for decades. While I cannot speak for communities outside of New York, I can attest that this has been the norm here since I was born in the 1970s. Fat Joe's statements about hip-hop's origins may have been contentious, but it's undeniable that Latinos played a significant role in the genre's development. Accusations of racism against Fat Joe seem unfounded; however, it's essential to acknowledge that colorism and racism exist within Latino communities. It's equally important to recognize that colorism is not exclusive to Latinos. Spike Lee's film "School Daze" illustrates the prevalence of colorism within Black communities. Rather than perpetuating infighting, we should focus on our shared experiences and commonalities. As members of the same community, our differences are overshadowed by our collective struggles and goals.
