It’s Movie Night! "Fright Night" Review

Defy reason. Defy everything you know. Welcome to Fright Night.
We thought this 2011 remake was rated PG-13… it’s definitely rated R despite the lighthearted tones. We wanted something edgier to keep spooky season scary, but did we cross a line? Hey guy, you’ll just have to listen and find out.

    I never comment on RUclips. I think this may be my third comment ever, but I had to tell you how much I am enjoying your Alaska content. I'm anxiously awaiting your continuation as we are embarking on the same itinerary at the same state room level next Summer. Eh? I don't know if Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a movie you can show to little kids. It's more align with Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993), And Atlantis: The Lost Empire which are darker and geared more for for adults. Not too mention Jessica Rabbit is a very sexualized character just like Esmeralda in Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) (I mean that doesn't bother me given that Hunchback and Roger Rabbit are geared more for adults it doesn't bother me that Jessica Rabbit and Esmeralda are like that so it fits the tone of the movie and (Also keep in mind that Esmeralda and Jessica Rabbit are adult characters so it doesn't really bother me). However not sure it's something I would want my kids to be exposed to).

    5:50 To be fair Punisher is Marvel and is certainly not something for kids to read or watch (The only Punisher material that's suitable for kids are certain episodes of the 90s Spider-Man cartoon (Which is how I got into the character) or him crossing over with certain Marvel characters like Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Captain America etc).

    My mom took me and my cousin to see Goblet of Fire back in 2005. It was also the first PG-13 Harry Potter and my mom took me out of theatres because it was too dark. Would you put Voldemort Killing Cedric Diggory in cry factor. I would because it's the saddest death in the franchise. Also you forgot to mention Jason Isaacs who plays Lucius Malfoy. He was the bad guy in the Patriot and is honestly my favorite villain in the franchise. Jason Isaacs has always been my choice for Norman Osborn/Green Goblin after Willem Dafoe especially. I love Willem Dafoe but I think Jason Issacs would have topped Willem Dafoe as Norman Osborn/Green Goblin especially if you've read the comics or watched the 1990s Spider-Man cartoon.

      @ThePuddinFamily 2 месяца назад

      @@MovieEnforcer we could have put Cedric into cry factor, but we kept a handful of other scenes out and included the scenes we ourselves got emotional for. The Lion King (1994), Toy Story 1 (1996), Aladdin (1993), and Tarzan (1999) were the Disney movies I watched the most when I was a kid. While they are no longer my favorites they still hold incredibly well. Not gonna lie League of Their Own (1993) and Tarzan (1999) are the only movies I like Rosie O’Donnell in. I noticed a lot of similarities between this and the Disney live action remake of The Jungle Book from 1994. Mowgli = Tarzan. Kitty = Jane. William Boone = Clayton. Kitty’s Father + Dr. Plumford = Jane’s Father. Bagherra = Kala. Baloo + Shere Khan = Kerchak. Mowgli’s Elephant Friend = Tantor. King Louie = Terk. Shere Khan + Kaaa = Sabor. Mowgli’s Dad Eaten By A Tiger = Tarzan’s Parents Eaten By A Leopard. Mowgli’s Dad Briefly Fighting Shere Khan + Mowgli’s Fight With Kaa = Tarzan’s Fight With Sabor. Boone Shoots Baloo = Clayton shoots Kerchak. Plumford & Kitty Teach Mowgli English = Jane’s Father & Jane Teach Tarzan English.

    I know it's way past May The 4th but have they seen the Star Wars Clone Wars Micro Series? It ran from 2002-2005. It was created Genndy Tartakovsky the guy who created Samurai Jack. I personally like it better than the 3D Dave Filoni Clone Wars which I think is kinda overrated. Volume 1 and 2 are Disney +. Not to mention I think this better than both the Prequel and Sequel Trilogy combined. I still find Anakin Skywalker to be a whiny brat but he's more tolerable than he was in the Prequel Trilogy (I guess that's to expected given that he's molded after Hayden Christensen. Christian Bale should have been Anakin Skywalker imo. I got the idea after Watching Equilibrium (2002) (Not a kid's movie) and he looks a younger Sebastian Shaw (The original actor who played Force Ghost Anakin in ROTJ). Also Darth Tyranus, General Grievous and Asajj Ventress are way cooler in this. I'd love to hear what you guys think of it and it's very underrated. They have not watched Clone Wars, neither have I. I've always been more of a movie watcher vs. a show watcher. I know the Star Wars animations are heavily praised (and I plan on watching them eventually), it's just low on the list at this moment. I'll keep you posted for whenever we get around to starting it. Bale would have ben a WONDERFUL Anakin. Equilibrium is a great film. I love the "gun sword fight" at the end of the film. Since it's the going to be 22nd anniversary ever consider showing your kids Spider-Man 1 (2002) (But I recommend them the 1990s Spider-Man cartoon first before you show them Spider-Man 1 (2002). Given that Spider-Man 1 features Norman Osborn/Green Goblin as the main antagonist and Spider-Man origin story, the episodes to show them before Spider-Man 1 (2002) are Make A Wish-Attack The Octobot (S3 EPS 2-3), Enter The Green Goblin (S3 EP4), Goblin War! (S3 EP 13), and my favorite episode Turning Point (S3 EP 14). Maybe you could show them Return of The Green Goblin (S4 EP8) which has Harry Osborn become the second Green Goblin with the ghost of Norman Osborn's Green Goblin tormenting Harry Osborn and that way the kids know that Mary Jane Watson is alive in case if they find what happens to Mary Jane in Turning Point (S3 EP 14) to be upsetting confirming that she's ok). After watching those four and half episodes of the 1990s Spider-Man cartoon then going to Spider-Man 1 (2002) I'd be interested to see which you guys prefer? The 1990s Spider-Man cartoon or Spider-Man 1 (2002). Which Spider-Man do they prefer? Christopher Daniel Barnes or Tobey Maguire? Which Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) do they prefer? Neil Ross or Willem Dafoe. But only if you guys want to. Don't feel obligated.

Christopher Daniel Barnes is my favorite Spider-Man (The same way I view Tim Daly as Superman and Kevin Conroy as Batman) and Neil Ross is my favorite Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) (The same way I view Clancy Brown as Lex Luthor and Mark Hamill as Joker).

    Did you that Esmeralda was originally going to kill Judge in order to save Quasimodo by kicking him off the cathedral? They had to scrap it or else the movie would have gotten a PG-13 rating. I found this out on IMBD. As parents would you have been comfortable if they went with that idea? Me personally? I would've been ok if they played it smart and keep in mind Frollo would've been trying to kill Quasimodo and Esmeralda wouldn't have had much of choice which makes it hard for me to get mad her for it. But I totally understand why they had to scrap it, especially given that the movie itself is daker than usual for a Disney movie. "The filmmakers originally wanted Esmeralda to kill Frollo in order to save Quasimodo. Esmeralda would've jumped onto the ledge then grabbed Quasimodo's hand. Frollo would've attempted to kill Quasimodo with his sword, then Esmeralda would've kicked Frollo off the cathedral, causing Frollo to fall to his death. This idea was ultimately abandoned, as having a heroine kill the villain was considered improper in a family film, and may have gotten the film a PG-13 rating" - IMDB Trivia:www.imdb.com/title/tt0116583/trivia/?ref_=tt_trv_trv

    I like this movie for what is. It's good but not great. However I do think Rosie O'Donnell was miscast in the role. Not gonna lie the only movies I like Rosie O'Donnell in are Doris Murphy from League of Their Own (1993), Terk the monkey from Disney's Tarzan (1999) and sometimes her talk show from the 1990s (emphasis on sometimes). I agree that she could have been recasted, I just worry that if that were the case then perhaps that actress would steal too much of the limelight and want more story for Betty’s character. O’Donnell was good enough for that time.

    I'd give Titanic a thumbs down because it's boring, pretentious, emotionally manipulative, predictable, too long and overrated. It's a waste of Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet's talents and they have no chemistry. It's just as bad as Edward and Bella in Twilight and is even worse than Anakin & Padme in Star Wars Prequel Trilogy (And that love story sucks to), the special effects looks dated to me. I've seen films in 1997 that still hold up and Titanic is not one of them. It's my least favorite James Cameron movie. If you're wondering I think Avatar is much better than Titanic. The only positive thing I have to say about Titanic is Billy Zane and he plays a great bad. He reminds me of Judge Frollo from Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Who is my favorite Disney villain BTW). But that's just me. I'm glad you liked it. As for Terminator 2? It's excellent and my favorite James Cameron movie. T2 gets a thumbs up for me.

      First off, thanks for the listen 🤜🏼🤛🏼 There is a bunch still wrong with Titanic, but we can definitely agree that Zane stole the show. Every delivery he gives is wonderful. Makes me wish The Phantom had more success lol

      @@ThePuddinFamily Billy Zane (Along with Jason Isaacs) was my choice to play Lex Luthor before Jesse Eisenberg or even Nicholas Hoult got the part. I'll wait and see how Nicolas Hoult does (Just put Lex in his battle suit this time for once), I like Jesse Eisenberg as an actor but he was not the right choice for Lex Luthor.
