Quokkas seem like an ideal species to be domesticated as pets, in place of rabbits and the various introduced species of rodent that some people currently keep. But because of overzealous environmentalism that is not likely to happen.
Well they're only found on Rottenest Island and in a very few places in Australia. Maybe a zoo breeding program would help them be preserved, but as you can see, they don't have many defenses other than being cute.
