The Go-Pro overheated and shut it self off, so I caught the tail end of the class. Our Fundamentals class is the perfect way to build a strong foundation in Judo while improving your physical fitness. This one-hour session focuses on Kuzushi (balance-breaking) and Tsukuri (proper positioning), which are the essential components of every technique we practice. The low-impact nature of the class ...

The Nage ura no kata (“forms of reversing throwing techniques") is a judo kata that, focuses on counter-attacks to throwing techniques. It was developed by Kyuzo Mifune and is not an officially recognized kata of the Kodokan. This is also referred to as the Nage-Waza Ura No Kata. Sensei Steven was assigned the Nage-Ura-No-Kata by the Gentle Ways yudanshakai as part of his Nidan Evaluation. Come...

This technique works great in or out of the Gi. Not sure if it’s competition legal for Judo, but it’s effective and in the spirit of Judo, so we train it. We recently added a No Gi class on Sundays at 1pm. Feel free to stop by!

Awesome!! Nicely done, George!
Good work George 👍🏽
Thank you for sharing this 🙏
Can someone please explain the difference between Seoi Nage and Ippon Seoi Nage? Thank you in advance 🙏
@@MP-db9sw while this may not be “traditionally” correct, The way that Nate was delineated between the two is how the throw was finished. With “Seoi Nage” Uke was lifted and the throw went over the side, almost rolled him off the hip. With “Ippon Seoi Nage”, Uke goes over the shoulder more of a vertical throw. Let me know if that makes sense, I can put a video up explaining the two if need be.
Osu!
Good uki
Excellent and well done! You are the first person I have watched do a tutorial explaining the foot goes up too early & thats why it fails. Kyuzo Mifune explains this in his book. Lift up, drop down to.your butt then insert the leg. I love this waza but am not so good with it- so far.
beautiful 🙏🥋
Good job 👍
Great exam. The new place looks fantastic. Thank you for honoring my Senseis' wishes. He started the not-for-profit as a way to help the community. Working as an engineer, highly respected by the North Dakota State University, he gave this beautiful thing to everyone. Thank you for honoring his legacy. Money got tight for everyone. The new place looks fantsdtic.
I think I'm going to struggle with remembering everything 😂
Do you know what the song is?
According to RUclips it is Ghost Walk, by Silent Partner. But it was built into the Application I used to make the video, Movavi, if memory serves.

Morote gari for yellow belt Promotion?
Red River Judo allows their students to pick which throws they want to demonstrate for their exam. For yellow belt, they will pick from the following: • 4 techniques from the Dai Ikkyo • 2 techniques from Shinmeisho No Waza • 1 Renraku Waza • 3 Osaekomi techniques • 1 Kansetsu Waza Technique • 1 Shime Waza Technique
That seems like a great way to grade, especially in early stages as it keeps people in the curriculum but allows for personal ability/style to count for something. Not just one size fits all/this way and only this way. Im glad I found this video.
Amazing trows and your execution of the techniques were really good! congratulations ! 🥋🇯🇵⛩️
Really removing old comp videos??
The old RUclips account was connected to Google’s Circle social media, so we archived it, as it wasn’t connected to the rest of our google accounts. We plan to repost the old videos if Google/RUclips will let us download them in decent quality.
@@evility1 I'm just appaled at censorship and social media, sometimes the platform takes things down without good reason.
@@erichalverson.83 understandable, but not the case here. Just trying to combine and organize the various accounts. Good looking out, though.
Congratulations Nate... Thank you Red River Judo for posting test curriculum, it's a nice tool for helping me to prepare for testing.
