I hit Sydney in late 76 as Radio Birdman were at the height of their powers. Hanging out at White light records in the Tankstream Arcade. Coming from the boring bush it was all I had hoped for. They really started the Sydney scene and we all owe the a debt of gratitude. Yeah hup!

Ever get tired of listening to the best rock over and over? I found out about Radio Birdman a couple of years ago and it gives you a whole new take on some of the best music ever.

Birdman were always full on. Their energy, attitude. hard and fast approach spawned massive counter culture in Sydney that then spread like wildfire pretty much everywhere. They were the roots of a really wide powerful movement that expressed no desire to commercialize. Legends very deservedly.

Weird. Birdman deserved it. Of course they did. But the people in the audience were the same types who tried to shut RB down in the 70s. Most of them had probably never listened to Radio Birdman when the band was being inducted and being introduced would never listen again voluntarily. They're just being hip. Being American I never saw them live, but I listened to Radios Appear when it came out and have never stopped. Radio Birdman have been in my Hall of Fame since the mid 80s. And you didn't need to pay a zillion quid and put on a suit to see them honored..

Thanks so much for uploading this. Radio Birdman changed my life (in a good way). If any band deserves to be in the Hall of Fame it is the Birdmen. I can honestly say that every Aussie pub/rock band that ever played in the 1980's - 1990's will name Radio Birdman as their main influence. I know, becasue I was one of those bands.

That's Guy Pratt. Was in Pink Floyd for a long time, has played on records for Michael Jackson, Madonna, everybody really. He was in Adelaide doing a comedy show about his showbiz adventures in the same venue as DCB.

Been a fan since 95 but this was my first time to see them live....unforgettable experience. I was a few people to your right - a couple of people btw me & stage ( a couple of tall people unfortunately!) Thanks for the memories :)
