    So I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado pretty much the same as u and I want to know where did u find 2500hd lift spindles because all the ones I found said they were for 1500 and a lot of people say they won’t work on a 2500

    • @mooneyes109
      @mooneyes109 17 дней назад

      CST Suspension. It’s a fabricated spindle. I attached the link. They are for 2500/3500 2wd. On sale right now for $950. Way cheaper than I paid a few years ago. Hope this helps. cstsuspension.com/product-category/2wd-lift-spindles/?orderby=popularity&paged=1&_sft_product_cat=2wd-lift-spindles

    Hey is this an ext cab long bed 2wd? CST claims there CSS-C1-12 only works on short bed 2500HD's but it looks like from the video this may not be the case. I have the same truck(if in fact this is a long bed) and looking to do something similar.

    • @mooneyes109
      @mooneyes109 6 месяцев назад

      Yes it’s a ext cab long bed 2wd. I believe on the CST website they say you can’t because they claim there’s interference with the brake caliper and the spindle. I checked it when putting it together and there was plenty of clearance. I drive the truck everyday and it works perfect. Only issue is tire clearance. The 315/75/17 required very little clearance. Just cutting the front of the inner fender well a bit and rounding the lower valance. Didn’t really do anything to the back side of the fender well. Hope this helps. Let me know if I can help you with anything else. 🤟

    • @user-ey6hl6oy3x
      @user-ey6hl6oy3x 6 месяцев назад

      Thank you for the quick reply. Your truck looks great. I'll get mine together in the next few months and definitely going with CST. I'm assuming with the 1inch lift block in the rear, you didn't need a longer shock? Also, does it sit rear high, rear low, or pretty much level?@@mooneyes109

    • @mooneyes109
      @mooneyes109 6 месяцев назад

      Yeah the front of the truck sits at 42 1/2 inches and the rear is 42 inches. Measuring from the ground through the center of the wheel to the top side of the fender well. It has all stock replacement shocks from Bilstien. No oversized anything. It’s a very simple set up and it looks great. If you want if completely level you can achieve it by just spinning the adjustable bolt down on the keys. No special tools other than a ratchet/socket and a measuring tape. I wanted the front end just slightly higher than the rear. Hope this helps! 👍

    How close is the wheel and tire from the spindle? Also are those method wheels 0 offset?

    • @mooneyes109
      @mooneyes109 Год назад

      The wheels have 0 offset. 4.75 of backspacing. It’s just a standard stock wheel, nothing custom. As far as the wheel clearance to the spindle it’s made for the truck so clears no problem, but the top of the upper A-arm that that is actually closer to the tire than the spindle has about 2 1/4 inches from the middle of the top of the tire which is actually to widest part. Still zero issues with the set up.

    • @mooneyes109
      @mooneyes109 Год назад

      This buggy uses essentially a stock vw bug rear shock. It’s fine for just cruising around and mild climbing but much more it’s maxed out. I’m assuming but I’m pretty sure it uses factory bug torsion springs along with possibly aftermarket spring plates. With two people over anything aggressive it will max out extension and compression. Hope this helps but if you really need a lot of wheel travel those buggy’s are out the with much more capable shocks. This one is just an old basic buggy that works! 👍

      @mooneyes109 Год назад

      Thanks, I didn’t really see the need for it but possibly. The bushings were fine with new ball joints. The alignment is perfect so no need for a +\- ball joint. I’m not opposed to a better upper but the factory works for me. 👍

    Thanks @rodneymctavish, it’s off the 15 and the 138 exit. Going North up the pass you get off the exit and look across the road too the right next to the freeway entrance to get back on, there’s a access road called Santa Fe Fire Road. Take it to the Railroad tracks and everyone parks there. That little engine owes me nothing! I kick its ass every time and it loves it!!! 🤟
