This is a really great brand of dog seat belt. I have been using it for years with a large breed dog. In this video I will go over the details of the seat belt.

What treats are you giving them?
My havashu is 3 months same size beautiful puppy. But when daisy sits she won't lay down... she has no interest 😂
Thanks, very helpful.
Excellent video ❤
I just wanna thank you for the videos. I live in Orlando, Florida and I just adopted a 12 week old Great Pyrenees I found your videos very helpful. Thank you!!
How do you make the association if you can’t get the dog to show interest in the item to begin with? As soon as my 2yr old GSD knows the treat is in my hand, he is ONLY interested in the treat, not any number of toys offered to him.
Have you tried using kibble as opposed to treats? They are slightly less exciting but still a reward.
I would recommend to teach the dog "touch" first. And then use that to introduce the toy. And the treats can be in a pouch not your hand . Only after they do what you are trying to get them to do then do you put your hand in the pouch to get the treat. Good luck!
Do you use a 2 or 3 mm prong? My Pyrenees has thick fur around her neck.
I love walking my Great Pyrenees 140 pound intact male . He is a perfect gentleman but I would hate walking him if I had to use treats/bribery instead of our great relationship to have his cooperation.
And how did that develop? What would you do if he were a puller? Or distracted easily? Just because you got lucky with a good dog from the beginning- you could still get off your unrealistic high horse and realize that is the exception...
I like your name but you don’t know anything so let me get back on my high horse and educate you. People like you always have the excuse that I got lucky but he was a puller And easily distracted. I just had the skill discipline patience and knowledge to overcome that with structure exercise and most of all leader ship to build a Great and cooperative relationship with an amazing independent minded creature like a great Pyrenees. It’s sad that few people will ever experience this. And by the way I did this without treats and without electric colors or prong collars that’s it there’s anything wrong with any of those tools when used properly.
@@OffGridDogs Do you even know what "educate" means? You're likely ON the grid if you think this way- still a collectivist at least! Less than a true individual... All I said was how and you've still been vague. I'll say it again- you got lucky. P.S. "You don't know anything"- use of negatives indicates the opposite of what you are attempting to convey... looks like you're the one who "don't know anything"...
@ Merry Christmas ! Someday I hope you receive the gift of wisdom!
@@OffGridDogs That would indicate that I've yet to receive it- I rebuke you satan and your attempted slander! You are forever doomed to be a sheep!
Thanks! Going to try this with my pooch.
My great pyreens his name is leo
You have a nice trim little arse.
So smart I have a havenese puppy she’s got sit and stay down but lay down is the one we’re struggling with
nice video but your camera person needs to keep their hand out of the shoot. Ref 00:43.
Didn't work for my Pyrenees. At all. 😆😆😆
I love your training videos. Short and to the point. Thank you for that!
My Great Pyrenees is "great" on a lead (pun intentional). She stops at the slightest lead pressure and can even be controlled by a toddler. However, we only allow the toddler to walk Serena within our fenced in property and only with close supervision. I was walking Serena on my property when a bunny erupted out of some undergrowth. Serena ran for the bunny but, stopped as soon as the lead became taunt.
My Pyr let’s bunnies and squirrels hop on by ignoring them. They’re not supposed to have any prey drive
In the Pyrenees Mountains, the shepherds would traditionally not feed their flock guardian dogs. These dogs would hunt for their own foods - such as rabbits.@@OffGridDogs
Fantastic. I'm free this week, just come on over and help us with pyraneese 😆
Awww
Best
Oh God wish mine would behsve like this one, always hyper, trying to eat my shoes, even my feet
Thanks so much. Just got my first pyr puppy he's five months and I desperately needed a good harness recommendation!!
Can't hear a word you're saying
My baby boy doesn’t like any treat i was given puppy shop ? What can I get him treat and lunch , dinner. Any idea appreciated. Thanks
Try gerber meat sticks (yes the baby kind). My guy is not a very big eater but loves the meat sticks for clicker training
Try freeze dried meat dog treats. they can be broken really small and are more nutritional for your dog. If your dog just isn't food motivated, try other things. Try rewarding with a toy or some play, or even just giving affection.
Or tiny pieces of boiled chicken. (No salt, pepper, seasonings obviously)
I got my Havanese 3 days ago. He’s only 3 months.
Strange looking plott,looks mixed.
What size prong collar is that?
Yea I want to know! I have a great pyr
What if your dog has 0 interest in food. I've tried EVERY single food item. Jerky, steak, turkey, hot dog chicken 😩😩😩😩i love him but he may be my last Pyrenees
Does he like to get brushed? That can be a good treat. If your dog is not food motivated you have the holy grail for a guard dog. This is the trait that is very important for a guard dog, yet few dogs have it.
What do you use for treats when training?
Most great Pyrenees have very low food drives. These are not good pets for average dog owners. I these are serious independent working dogs. I have been successful having one as a pet because I knew what I was getting into and was willing to provide what this type of dog would need to thrive without a Mountain full of sheep Tigard. Get a German Shepherd or something next time lol
@All Four Paws of WPB It worked! 😃😃😃 I've teached my dog to lay down! I'm so happy that she knows what is means. Thanks for your video for helping me how to learn your dog to lay down. Bless.
That is so great!! I'm so glad to hear your pup learned this and that the video helped.
@@allfourpawsofflorida Yea she 13weeks and quite a quick learner I see.
How old is he
He was 10 months when I made this video.
Great stuff.
I'm going to try this too to mine boerboel pup of 11week, she knows how to sit paw as well too.
Let me know how it goes! Happy training.
@@allfourpawsofflorida I will 😁
Having been pulled to the ground many times, I've come to instinctually know when he's trying to be sneaky for a lunge. He does not listen to me, however. Only when he wants to.
Same here, my friend. I'm pretty much at the "Fukkit" stage with my pyre. XD XD XD
Gorgeous, precious puppy!
Thanks for the recommendation !!
You are welcome. Crazy story, when I first adopted Wulife we were driving to the beach one morning. While we were stopped at a red light, unbeknownst to me he was fixated on a flock of ducks off in the grass. Thankfully he was fastened to the harness and seatbelt, he jumped out of my car (window was only down half way). I quickly put the car in park and ran to him, he was just suspended an inch above the ground, still fastened to the seat belt which was then dangling over the outside of the car. I was able to unclip him and get him back into the car safely. I know for sure this seat belt is strong and durable. I am so grateful it held up as I know for sure it would have been a bad situation that day with the cars and the potential to run off.
All Four Paws of WPB wonderful example and for all of us who have GP’s , this seatbelt could come in handy !! Thanks so much for sharing 😊 btw this belt could help any dogs but I was referring to GP has a mind of their own most of time .
Excellent advice and your dog is so well behaved !!
Thank you so much! Yes he is a good boy. Training helps so much to allow us to enjoy our pups! Thanks for the feedback. 🐶
Excellent video. I have another question that maybe you can help me with. My full GP is huge and as you know , they like to roam. GP’s think the world is theirs to guard lol Anyway have you ever tried the invisible fence ? I think they would be awesome but ours has so much hair on his neck , I had my doubts it would work as I figure the hair wouldn’t allow the collar to teach him the boundary line..it would be nice to have a fence without having an actual fence .... do you have any thoughts on that ? Thank you for your advice and vids
I’m not a trainer, just a Pyr owner, and my vet, my dog’s trainer and his kennel staff have all told me an invisible fence will NOT contain a Pyr. Mine is 7 yrs old now- and I fully agree. We had a physical fence put in instead when he was a pup. They’re just so headstrong. I have a friend whose Pyr climbs her physical fence and escapes- so she always goes out with him now. They can be a challenge to contain- but they are still big sweethearts.
Never seen one of these . Thank you
These are nice. A behaviorist I worked with a while back recommended them and they work very well.
New subscriber here !! I subscribe to several dog channels because I just love dogs. Yours is special cause I own 2 Great Pyrenees!! Yay. these are wonderful dogs that get overlooked by so many people ! Great channel 😀
Thank you! Yes they are a special breed. I love their temperament. Check out my latest video where I take my Pyr to Home Depot with me. I would love to see your Pyrs.
All Four Paws of WPB I will definitely check it out as there aren’t enough GP videos out there. My female which is about 11 is a Pyrenees mix and my male is almost 2 and is already hugeeeee !! If you go to my channel , my daughter puts our instagram link in the description box . Please follow as I post a lot of my dog pics there. Wishing you continued success
Loved the video. My boyfriend and I adopted a 3 month old Pyr in Georgia this weekend and names her Koda. We’re super excited to watch her grow! Ps.. we’re from Florida too. 🥰
So glad you enjoyed the video. Congrats on adopting a Pyr! They are a great breed. They have a lot of wonderful traits. Please feel free to email me at allfourpawswpb@gmail.com if you have any questions. I'm in south east Florida if you are close by and need a trainer.
Love this video - v straightforward and understandable. thank you!
Thanks for the video!
I am going to try this on my Great Pyrenees puppy! She only knows “sit” and “paw” 😂Thank you!
That's great let me know how it goes they are a really unique breed.
Great video, as always!
Thank you!!!
Thank you so much! I taught mine how to sit and shake, but never wants to stay😂
Stay can be a bit challenging. The key is small steps starting with just taking a half a step away and repeating it 10 or 15 times before making it more difficult for the dog.
Love your videos 💕
Thank you!!
What harness do you recommend?
A front clipping harness with a martingale loop. I like the "easy walk" brand of harness I am using in this video.
Hi there I made a new video with the harness that I recommend thanks for the inspiration for new content please check it out.
None! Never use a harness
Soo cute!
Yes she is so cute!
Very interesting! Very helpful!
Thank you I am glad this was interesting and helpful.
You can add water and freeze it. Nice for warm days aswell
Such a good boy.
Yes he is.
