Do any stage (quest, event, challenge etc) and after you select the friend before you press start you should see some empty spaces you press on them, select which one you like then you start the stage and when you're in battle don't forget to press the icon items below and use any items that you brought to Battle

When you go in a stage, after you select your friend to start before you start, you see there are support items and support memories are right next to them click on it and select one of them for example if you run a super class team, use the GT Goku one that is available if you run extreme class you will use the first form frieza equipment
