Rocm driver Davinci Resolve on Linux
Here I show why you should just use the rocm driver for amdgpu's and not the rusticl mesa driver for a more stable experience.

Acne retouch gimp how to do frequency separation
Welcome back Shane. I like how you use each module according to specific needs.
World is frozen in your video... Can't handle this speed of your speech
how do you do that in RawTherapee 5.11? It seems that the interface is a little different now....
What about open suse it is fedora commands work with it
Fantastic tutorial, thanks
Here I show why I switched back to Rocm drivers for my amdgpu, I do talk about going to nvidia but an update video is coming on why I returned the nvidia gpu.
I never knew Krita did AI generation stuff! Always good to see more people using Linux for photography / design work :-) Subscribed.
I wouldn't say I'm a "professional" user, but I currently use Linux Mint for photo editing, nature sound recording processing, and 3D cad for hobby level 3D printing.
what software is even available for monitor calibration on Linux?
I'm migrating to Linux from Windows on my laptop Pop/OS, AMD Ryzen 7 Pro, Radeon Graphics. I would like to install Krita and experiment with its AI abilities. Any do's and don'ts suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks! Finally it works
Could you please provide the photo in the video so I can follow the tutorial?
I just want to comment and say that you saved me life with this video! I was sick of windows but still need my design software for work and this helped out immensely thank you so much!
It doesn't work for me. I have just got the S5m2 and immediately upgraded the firmware, so I wonder if Rawtherapee support broke in the latest camera update. It tries to convert but just gives random noise.
Thanks, in exchange here's a typing tip hit ctr + backspace to delete an entire word.
I found out after dabbling with Darktable thst it is superior yhen Lightroom, but require quite a bit more of learning many modules
Can you compare darktable with digikam?
Thank you. Yes any good stuff on Affinity Photo 2 (too) is welcome. Are the sound blips now and then a consequence of Linux?
Honestly a lot of stuff is easier in Linux once you get the grip of it. People claiming Windows is easier or has no issue are capping HARD. The most I needed to use Windows at my job the most I hated it, and I started using Windows 98 and only touched Linux in the late 2010. Each OS has its own benefits but Windows become worse by the year, and I have a specific Windows Computer for gaming which recently moved into Pop_OS because Proton runs 95% of my Steam Library there excepting few games I still need Windows for. The thing is, everything in Linux can be somehow fixed and you can make it better, while in Windows sometimes it just won't work, will crash, force you to reinstall, the own updates will break your system, a lot of things will be awful, there will be changes on the OS beyond your posibility to control them and make your job even harder. If you only use few programs and the web browser even then Linux is still better because you just start it and go... everything works and the RAM and resources overall are 10 times better optimized than Windows and that is a hard fact unless you run scripts on PowerShell to debloat Windows which also sometimes lead to instability on the system or breaking dependencies on other things. If someone does not want to learn Linux at least should learn PowerShell on Windows because at this point using Windows without even being close to a power user is the worst situation you can be if you are going to do more than web browsing.
Endeavor is pretty cool if you want to use Arch, BTW. However, personally, I found Garuda, which is also an Arch-based distro, more fun to work with and also much user friendlier in terms of accessibility, stability and compatibility. It also looks quite nice with the crisp KDE Plasma desktop environment, which offers a ton of personalization options. That alone impressed me quite a bit, coming from Win11 where I had to tinker with scripts, reg editor and third party patches from some dude on GitHub to achieve a bare minimum of customization like changing a basic set of system, file and/or folder icons. Ridiculous! On Linux, I have the freedom to designing my work environment, window manager, general UI and explorer the way I see fit, so much so that I initially stared at all the options in utter disbelief like a North Korean guy walking into a Home Depot for the first time. The only downside for me with Arch is that you need to keep everything religiously up to date, preferably daily, some would even say hourly, or else you'll run into dependency issues very quickly and then everything blows up in your face rather unspectacularly. I've learned that the hard way (like practically everyone else does, or so it seems). So I toned the complexity down a notch and now use Linux Mint as a beginner to get familiar with the OS itself more easily and learn the ropes with as little effort and headache on my part as possible, bit by bit.
Oooh!! I have the S5iix and this has been very frustrating to not have support for... but... does this mean Darktable supports it too?!
Were you able to get the login screen to auto select Wayland at login? I always have select Wayland at login, and also auto login does not work at all with Wayland. I'm running OpenSUSE Tumbleweed.
I didn't even know Krita could do AI stuff! Would love to see how you edit real photos with AI..
Take the money you save from not paying for Windows and other software and invest in a more powerful computer. This will make up for any foreseen performance disfferance.
Looking into more live streaming but will need to get my mic working as I don't here my voice in this let me know how I can fix this. Thanks
Don't currently do photography (except for very basic phone photography), but I'm taking a class right now and I'm really looking forward to getting into it! At home I use entirely Linux, but at school we use Windows and Adobe, so I'm going to begin on Adobe, but once I'm used to photography software in general I think I'll go ahead and try some of these tools. Thanks for the great video!
Set playback to 1.5x, to have speech at normal conversational rate.
How Boring
Monitor calibration would be nice. Can I ask which distro you prefer?
Yo this looks amazing!
Nice, Just moved to Linux, previously an ACDsee 2024 user. I am sure I can learn a lot from other Linux users like your channel. Keep em coming!
You use Linux. Why? What are the advantages and Disadvantages of it especially with DaVinci Studio? Other questions- do you use a dual boot situation or dedicated Linux Machine?
Any idea how to make it run on windows?! My GPU is not detected on win 11
Amazing ❤💪
Have you tried running it through Steam and Proton/ProtonGE with DXVK arguments and stuff like that?
the lack of a sudo before commands that may require it is on purpose: i believe that you as the user should only ever use sudo when you know you need to and you understand why :p btw this guide now has an actual documentation style website!! i reformated everything for readability; the link is up on the codeberg page!
Wow!! I really hope someone could bundle this in some way to make a simple install like how Steam has been doing Windows games on Linux!
when i press E it does not bring up an exposure overlay, please help?
Fujifilm & other camera manufacturers need to get their shit together & provide Linux tethering & app support. With all the Adobe & Windows BS that's been going on recently more & more people are migrating to Linux & open source software. Porting their apps over to Linux from MacOS should be a pretty simple process.
this hole Brainfuck for a Win-Software? No way!
Thank you for video. Been wracking my brain on this for days.
Here is a tutorial on how to run the affinity suite on Linux.
it saying vp09
youtube does their own compression (to vp9 in this case) regardless of what the codec on the actual uploaded video is
@@djole0501 there is plenty video that shows av1 just not yours
Linux simply Rocks, I use RichARCH btw. It made it quick and simple for me to get Arch Linux installed with kickstart like automation features.
Thanks for the video. I wonder about leaving the tone mapping in the CST to just DaVinci. I watch a lot of Cullen Kelly's videos, and while I don't understand them all, it seems like he prefers to change the tone mapping setting from DaVinci to Luminance mapping, and then clicking max input and changing it to 10,000 nits (or something like that). Don't know if that is either right or wrong, per se, just it seems to work etty well.
Comparing filmic rgb and sigmoid modules in darktable 4.8.1
I look forward to having one myself
might be better to turn off auto volume control to stop the audio clipping each time you start talking.
I've made that change on a video I recorded today.
this is wrong. do more research.
This is not a color grading video this is for quick conversion to rec709 color grading is for another video give an example elitist way of thinking is not ok here
