So this is actually a PAL version and the tape I used while recording it was NTSC S-Video. I ordered a PAL blank so hopefully that fixes some distortion but also when it’s direct to pc I might need a better software to decode it.

In order to maintain the fieldrate of 59.94 as per the NTSC standard its best to at the least deinterlace utilizing a x2 (double frame) algorithm to produce a full 59.94 frames per second from the fields. I use VirtualDub2 with the Lagarith lossless video codec and raw PCM audio. Then for up scaling do so in Avisynth with bi linear resize along side deinterlacing in QTGMC. Looks much better from Avisynth compared to Hybrid from my personal experience.
