Had many complaints on the original issue of this video. So I made a revised version for those who are interested.
Echoing Gilewitz 1st version

Doug MacKenzie's rendering of a Leo Kotke version of a composition by Richard Gilewitz makes for good listening. Brother Guy MacKenzie adds his quirky vision with a video that impacts both the music and the listener. Best to use headphones on this. (And keep the volume control handy)

One of my absolute all time favorite You Tube videos is one submitted by xj808 and judging by the fact that it has well over a half-million hits, I'm not the only one who favors this impeccable Horowitz performance. But one thing has bugged me about the video. The video and audio are considerably out of sync. With apologies to the originator of the video, I have corrected this as best as I coul...

The young lady at the end of this video underwent a bone marrow transplant just three weeks ago. She is on the road to recovery and hopes to return home in the Spring.

Sue Werner's tender song of hope and reassurance Is dedicated here to a young lady about to recieve a bone marrow transplant. The lyrics are included below. (May I suggest May I suggest to) you now That yes this is the best part of your life May I suggest This time is blessed for you This time is blessed and shining almost blinding bright Just turn your head And you'll begin to see The thousand...

Joni Mitchell's sweet and subtle music is joined with her sometimes blatent and quirky lyrics.
Absolutely love this song but cant remember how to spell it. Luckily searched for the "outlawed pipes" and this popped into my playlist. Seek and ye shall find, lol. Serendipitous, by design 😮
This is the best version,in my opinion❤
love to you
Now, my dear brother, the chief architect of who I am today, has passed away. January 11, 1940 - September 20, 2024. Guy made this video for me, as a thank you for turning him on to the Davey Spillane piece he used for this video. Guy was truly an incredible man. A poet, philosopher, astronomer, photographer, pilot, aircraft mechanic, aviation school chief instructor, guitarist, songwriter, and performer. He was a dad, husband, brother, son, grandfather, and uncle. He will be with me, always.
My condolences. Even though voids like these will never be filled again, may you carry the great memories you have of him with you forever. It hurts like nothing else to lose a good brother or sister..
@@hellmunddegenhard; hank you for your condolences. It's very much appreciated.
I was about to write a thank you comment to the person who posted this video, but then I saw this comment. I am so sorry for your loss. I would like then to thank you both. This is a piece that I heard repeatedly in my childhood but was nameless to me. I spent some years looking for it with no success, so I sadly thought I would never hear it again. All I had were some fragments that I replayed by memory in my head from time to time. Somehow, after 20 years, life led me back to this song through this video. Thank you for turning this song to your brother, as it allowed me to find it and joy from it again. Thank you.
@@wendyduarte819, you are more welcome than you know. <3
Benny Goodman does a great version of this in 1938. Look it up if you haven’t heard it. Only relation I have to Scotland is my 9th Great Grandparents came from Scotland, the Lockharts. I know my 16th Great grandfather is Allen Lockhart the 3rd, 1459-1513. They owned a castle that is today privately owned by a different family. I love ancestry.
Просто испортили начало такого шедевра! Разве можно так?

I first heard this song when I went to watch Riverdance in Dublin and it brought me to tears. Even after all these years it still does. I find it so beautiful and it touches my soul in such a way that I cannot even put it into words. ☘️

Ullian pipes are Irish, bag pipes are Scottish. You can trace the bag pipes all the way to the middle east.
There must be somethjng to DNA memory. So many from other countries feel kinship when listening to Celtic music. My family came from Iverness to America in the early 1700's. I have felt connected to anything Scottish since I was young.
played at my dads funeral just a few days ago a fitting song for a true celt who i will miss forever god bless
I’ve always said that ❤❤
RIP Greg😪🙏💛😘 I love+miss you...
Eire is like clear water in my heart and in in my mind. i had an aussie Teacher McNamara. How does it came we all lost all our roots?
What are the lyrics on screen from?
Scottish Pipes: Probably the only thing that can consistently bring grown men to tears each and every time…
These are uilleann pipes, from Ireland, and the tune is Irish. Scottish highland pipes, Irish uilleann pipes, both will bring tears!
@@kayamaggie11 Thanks for the lesson! Yes both will bring huge emotions
Im not Irish, im Hispanic but my love for the Irish culture and music goes beyond any borders. The people, the lifestyle, everything about it is beautiful and mystifying. The music always gets me. This song nearly brings a tear to my eye and it has no lyrics, much like other classical pieces in history. Much love from the U.S....
Hi, I love the Hispanic culture and am of Irish heritage. Did you know there is a strong link between the two?
the most wonderful music!
This touched my soul… Thank you.
🖤🖤
Anam Cara by John O'Donohue bought me here🙏
Irish? MacKenzies are not from there. Also the old Mackenzie homestead in the picture- Eileen Donan.
I wish I understood why I feel so much when I hear those pipes.
not even high, but arroamed for, so.
Wow
How nice is that irish music blows my mind 🇮🇪☘️
I am half Irish/Scott and half German (Black Forest). It's interesting how some music with no lyrics stirs the soul. It's like your brain paints a picture of your ancient memories while you just listen. Thank you!!!🥰
Couldn't have said it better...
I am Irish, Scots, Welsh and Black Forest German as well. I can feel the rivers run through my soul with the music of my (our) peoples pouring in my broken heart. Cheers, mate.
Davy Spillane, music and his Ulieann Pipes are beautiful!
I weep a flood of tears every time I hear it . I feel the spirit of my grandmother , Mary O'Molloy Davis , who was forced to leave her home in County West Meath with her brothers and sisters , hovering over me and protecting me . God bless my Irish roots .
This was a piece they used in 1996 Riverdance,I cried it's so beautiful
Breathtaking and beautiful
Isthe video text the lyrics or a poem?
This one never gets old open, listening to it for 30 years
every time i hear this piece of music tears spring to my eyes, it is so hauntingly beautiful

I know I’ve commented it before, but every few years I have to return to say , this is the song I want played at my funeral. It’s just so hauntingly beautiful.
Same🙏
Me too❤❤
Same here, except I can't wait for years to come back here.
A lament. This piece performed with so much expression by Spillane instantly evoked an image in my mind- of an old woman losing her last Son in war, alone and wailing in her empty home as she struggles to function with life's most basic, now grueling, chores. I see faded lyrics above as I write this long overdue message, suggesting my image may be "wrong," but I learned from this what a lament is to me- having never known the form before- and realizing it speaks (or should) to the core of us all, as we ride the sometimes painful waves of life. Just incredible.
This makes me proud to be Irish! Even though I'm 100% Nordic.
