I am from Croatia and I love Katia and Sergei since the 1986 World Championship in Geneva. I keep newspaper articles from November 1995 where it is written that Sergei died on the ice, in the arms of his wife Ekaterina. Sergei was supposed to lift Ekaterina into the air, but he felt weak and failed to lift her. Ekaterina asked him what was happening, but Sergei just shook his head and just continued to slide to the fence, trying to hold on and lean on himself. Then he bent his knees, lowered himself slightly and lay down on the ice. Ekaterina must have held him at that moment (according to the doctor, it is assumed that this was the moment of his death). After that, Katerina realized that something was very serious and started screaming and calling for help, together with Marina. So it was true that Sergei died in the arms of his Ekaterina. His last look on Earth was a look towards his Ekaterina 😢💔

Good afternoon all, all the years I watched Sergei and Ekaterina and was for me so sad to hear of his loss, you gave me great inspiration in my own career, all of the people here, I also had skated, (rollers), and always watched all of you competing, all in good love and sportsmanship, you gave me many inspiration for my competitions, but you are the best of all, I still do watch all those championships on old video tapes, my love , warmth and compassion to you all, you are the inspiration for many skaters to come, all of you, you are the best, and our thoughts always with Ekaterina 🥰, Johann

Every time I watch pairs, I recognize how special G&G were and how we'll never see their equal. I knew they were different when I saw them in 88. I recognized their greatness then. But, in the last 28 years, I kept hoping to see a similar pair come along. But, just as Ekaterina said of her life, love and happiness with Sergei was like a comet that comes every 17,000 years... So, are G&G in Pairs skating. They were and remain The Best.

They are the best. They had a grace and style that you no longer see in today’s ice skaters. I Love being able to watch them as much as I want. I think hat trick is my favorite. I ❤❤❤

Sergie was let down by Russia and katia sorry knowing his dad had early death sergie should have had normal tests.but no skating was .more important. 🇬🇧

To see kati wrapping her legs Round her new ice hockey partner.hes slimmed down changed his hair to look more like sergie.all the beauty the way sergie and she was brought up with morals respect humility and real love for each other.makes me not watch the way katia skates with this new partner.even her ex husband I prefer to watch.i know katia has to move on.she has forgotton why and what people loved her and sergie for.they danced as one.the romance respect beauty in every performance even the music was pleasure to listen to.but now when I see her with her new love this hockey player.they have recieved 6 or 10 s in Russia. He loves himself katia acts like a little girl needing him to comfort her.she acted more grown up at 11.sorry but thier performances to sex bomb are vulgar Sergie would never have performed with katia laying back in air with her private part practically in her partners face.he had to much respect Nd humility. Sergie loved Russia but put kati first.now she hS 2 homes one in Russia one still in America poor sergie he helped her become the star. Never over shadowing her. He loved her was proud of her yet katia off stage is touching praising this new partner even letting him speK over her.R.I.P SERGIE NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN EVER 🇬🇧

It could have been what it appeared to be, but I believe it was either poisoning or a curse, (conjuring of demons). More like it considering his looks, and his charisma. Someone in comments said Sergei was poisoned during his previous injury.
