Have a question. New vehicles use a spring system which can be come a projectile, injuring firefighters if handled wrong. How does your department handle these new lift assists?

Quick suggestion, when you cut the B post out of the way by the casualty do an inverted cut in to the roof at the top of the B post so you take the whole of the B post out. It is easier to cut a V shape in the roof like this and removes the hazard of a jagged stump near the casualties head.

Hi, Thanks for sharing this technique, it would make sense where you have limited crew members, may i ask if you have limited crew so a complete roof removal can not be completed, would you have enough people to longboard the casualty out of the vehicle, or would that be with the addition of medical teams? Not a criticism. After watching your video, i am a great believer in sharing information and techniques in this field, so thank you. We did struggle to rotate the roof even with several people, we had to make a relief cut in the rear post to take away some of the strength, we then thought perhaps rotating on the smaller top of the mid pillar may be better, as stated dependant on casualty location. One with we will try again with different orientations. Great stuff thanks for sharing. If you don't mind here is a link to the pictures of the one we tried. www.dropbox.com/home/Public

Very quick move with minimal crew members. The only after thought I have is if your planning on taking the doors also then you should do that first to be able to utilize the strength of the halo contained in the roof structure for your vertical crush. Maybe pop/ cut only the doors needed for patients access and removal before the twist.

thanks for this video. great to have another technique in the tool box. we face the same issue with low manpower. At best we have one medical for the patient, two on extrication, and one or two for traffic.
