Just ordered this blade! Can't wait to check out your own brand of knives. Owned pretty much all your CRKT stuff and even some Hanwei and Bugei over the last 15 years. Big fan!

I have a cast iron skillet about that same diameter, perfect for frying one egg at a time, if you want a perfect fried egg with crispy edges. Two, if you're hungry. I haven't ever seen this adorable Dutch oven size. We have a 10" and a 12". What do you put between the bacon and the Cheese? It would smell and taste delicious, I'm sure.
Cast iron is heavy, but great on the fire like this. This one is from Petromax, it’s their smallest size. Works well solo or with a kid or two. After the bacon comes the “crozets” it’s a type of buckwheat pasta from the French alps.

How tough is vanadis compared to 80crv2?
80CrV2 is a bit tougher, V4E should give you better edge retention and corrosion resistance. In a knife you’d really have to abuse them to see real differences.

Love that handle design. I really wish there was a hand guard or something that prevents your hand to slip onto the blade
They don't add it so it doesn't snag on your clothes when carrying it ISWB

Beautiful blade. Three questions (if you don’t mind): 1. I own several of your 3.5 shobu zukuri mini-Kaikens …my current favourite is the V4E SZ, which is perfect. First question is how you feel the V4E holds up against the new Magnacut? I know, for my purposes (personal defense) it is all the same …and before I started carrying the WBD knives some years back, I used to carry your CRKT versions (that were of ‘lesser’ steel). If the purpose is self defense, then even the simplest steel will work. But with that said, what are your thoughts of V4E as compared to Magnacut? 2. What is your thoughts of the osoraku zukuri shape vs the shobu zukuri? I’ve tried both for penetration (the CRKT Inazuma folder with the OZ shape, and the 4.5 elmax steel SZ Kaiken …and both did very well on plywood). Again, for purposes of personal defense both blade shapes would work well, but what are your views on (any) differences? 3. Finally, is there a custom version of the Magnacut 3.5 SZ mini-Kaiken coming out? In the past there have usually been a custom/limited version coming out after the ‘main’ release. Is this the case? Thank you for the feedback! 1. Functionally I think it’s hard to find serious differences between these high-end steels, and even some more basic steels. They’re all excellent steels. Between V4E and MagnaCut, the main difference is corrosion resistance, with V4E being a tool steel you won’t get the same corrosion performance in humid/sweaty environments. I’ve been very happy with the toughness of V4E, I use it a lot for fire prep when I’m outdoors. Need to use MagnaCut more to say for sure, but people are constantly asking for it. 2. The difference in performance is marginal. You get a bit of a different edge profile toward the tip, but it’s mainly aesthetic. 3. We have some SZM customs coming later this summer with MagnaCut and CF from FatCarbon. 👍

@@williamsbladedesign last question, if you don’t mind. Any plans for coming out with more of the WBD bearded axes? It’s been missing for some time (I got the CRKT Skeggox axe, but it’s not the same), and while waiting I’ve gotten all the Winkler axes I have wanted to get. :) But still yearning for the WBD bearded axe. If it is anything like the Skeggox (which is the same axe but with different materials) it must be totally amazing. Any chance? I am assuming that, considering there have been no Winkler-WBD collaborations for quite some time, that may be the reason for no WBD axes in a while? Any chance TRC would make them? Or is there some secret squirrel stash of new-old stock WBD axes that may come on the website … ;^) Many thanks and stay blessed.

I just purchased the Freedom, my first TRC. I wanted a high quality knife for my moose Hunt in British Columbia this October. I have owned many fixed blade knives, Bark River, Enzo, Brisa, Arno Bernard, Boker, Moki, Esee, Ontario, Russell, and more, and I have to say that I have never been so excited to receive a new knife in my life. It's a stupid ass design. That might be the most unfunctional thing I've ever seen. Not a weapon, hand will slide up the blade. Zero ergos so you can't work with it. Doesn't even look cool.
It's a weapon and you don't know how to use it. If you're not a Japanese blade enthusiast then it's not for you.
It's funny, because the dumbs always have issues with these - because they're too ignorant to know what they don't know, and too stupidly arrogant to learn. 😂
Totally RAD! I finally got one! SZK005 #76/150 , and it is so absolutely incredible. It is my favorite knife, and the sheath is the best I have encountered in the knife world. Good Luck with that awesome blade Bro!

The best blade ever created! I have the Williamsbladedesign/trcknives SZK005, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that knife! It is so INCREDIBLE! Every one of my blades are made in USA except this MAGNIFICENT SPECIMEN, and it is my BEST knife. My HFB CombatDirtNap is Very Close! Like so Absolutely close. The trcknives craftsmen are some of the very best in the world. Very impressive, Quality, Outstanding blades!

I like your folders. I have a couple requests. Longer blade like the Otonashi Maybe offer a more entry level knife with aluminum or g10 and a little lesser steel Put a wave opener on it. All the knives I carry have to have a good wave opener I love your knives but they are almost just collector knives, not really to use imo
Thank you for the feedback. Our next folder will be Otanashi sized. The wave opener is a bit more complicated due to the patent issue, although we’re working on some options.
