The Creative Residency Arita has brought together international artists and local craftspeople to collaborate and create works of art in Arita. This film aims to showcase the program's achievements over the last few years and its impact on both the artists and the local community. The film will explore the effects of the residency on the career development and international opportunities for artists, as well as the positioning of Arita as an international center for pottery and crafts. The film will also investigate whether the residency has helped to prolong the legacy of Arita pottery and create new opportunities for local artisans. Produced by Tilmann Meyer-Faje, 2013 for Kunstencentrum Signe Heerlen. The video re-enacts the destruction of several buildings that were broken down in the city of Heerlen. For that, the houses were rebuilt from clay on a miniature scale. Instead of being fired, they were sprayed with water which made the objects disintegrate and finally collapse. Would loved to have seen each piece in sequence from start to finish instead of jumping from one to another, then back to the original piece, just to jump to another piece..... but all processes very skillfully done!
Yes you are right, but the factories have a lot of different objects in production, each in small amount. So the workers often change the objects where they handle with. I was alone in the factory i could not communicate to the staff, so thats why i did not achieve to do that
