The BEW Lamella Turbine in a design study with flood water save lifting device: by adapting the level of the Lamella Turbine to the water level, the Lamella Turbine can remain in operation during the rise of the water level. At continuous increase of water flow, the complete hydro power unit, including all auxiliary equipment like belt drive, gearbox, generator and even the screen, is lifted above the flood water level so that on the one hand, the plant is in a safe position and on the other hand, the flood water can pass the full river profile without the reduction conventionally caused by a rigid water power plant situated in the river profile.
