How did you get the room the power steering pulley? mine is blocking my high pressure port on the gear box I’m running Holley high mount kit with truck spacing if that helps thanks and nice build

A 4l80 flex plate would work without that spacer you use and it’s pretty beefy

Hi from Sydney, Australia. Sadly these never came to Australia except for a few US Government official cars. By'91 there were no converters prepared to do small quantity conversions from left hand drive to right hand drive. When these 4th series Caprices came out I thought they looked terrific with the skirted rear fenders, I owned a factory right hand drive 1965 Galaxie, those also had skirted rear fenders, then for "66 Ford opened up the wheel arch , same as GM did in the 1994 makeover on the Caprice, so a bit of its class was lost. Until the mid 70's both Ford & GM Aust' would import the parts in kit form to build RHD versions of a select range of US Ford & GM cars I've owned a few over the years and have kept my 2 favorites a 1972 & 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood Broughams. I've owned the black '74 model now 42 years , and unlike your Caprice, mine has 710,000 kilometres on it, however it looks like new, looked after carefully in our warm dry climate as I knew I'd never get another, I bought it when I was 26, now I'm 68.

They didn't cast numbers in the block for their health. 😂 The numbers will tell you everything you need to know. Year and month of manufacture, application (car or pickup) and displacement (engine size). You got it made these days, just Google it. In my day I had to actually crack a book or use a rotary phone and call someone. I'm glad to see some people can still figure s*it out. Good job! 👍

Appreciate the video. If I also need to replace the fan motor, is it safe to say I'll need to removed the entire box from under the hood? I need to do the heater core but the fan is skwaking bad and I need to do it while I've got everything tore apart. Thanks

It's an A-body. Not a G body.

The big hose on the back is the vacuum line to the brakes. The small one to the right is a pcv valve going to the air cleaner.

The pump on the right is called a smog pump.

A real beauty. I have a similar car mine being a 1989 Grand Marquis LS 50th Anniversary Edition in dark blue metallic with full cloth carriage roof and all exterior trim in gold anodized including trunk mounted luggage rack. My other two cars are Crown Victoria wagons a 1987 and a 1991. As good as the Ford's ride the Mercury is supreme.
