Ah, the old trip down to Interlaken. May I suggest a bus ride from Interlaken up to Beatenberg or a bus ride from Interlaken to Thun on the north side of the lake? Great trips.

I love the view of the Promenade as the train does a 180 and crosses a bridge over the street. When you go back, check out that wood-grain vending machine at the train station. It vends…cheese.

Another great way to visit the castle is by taking a lake steamer from any of the ports on Lac Lemon.

Ah, the home of cordon bleu. My restaurant recommendation: Schlosskeller. A memorable meal on the terrace of salat, cordon bleu con frites, a specially prepared chocolate cake with chocolate filling, and numerous glasses of white wine.
