Cheers for the good review. Are you able to simulate a rain test with this, to simulate hours of rain (even if soft rain) such as with a sprinkler at a certain distance? Years ago I purchased a country shooting style jacket (for the range of pockets and sinching capabilities) claiming to be waterproof, but it failed miserably to repel water at all when hiking. It simply wetted out, so I'm wary of this field of clothing even though on the search for a more classic style smock.

I have a pair of the exact same model and they are very comfortable. I also recently purchased a pair of Redbacks. Their leather is thicker, so I think they'll take a bit longer to break in. Redbacks do have more cushioning in the sole than my Blundstones.

This jacket has the best hood for rainy windy weather. The hood sits very low so it feels heavy on top of your head. I thought this was a design flaw until I was out in a storm. Hood sits perfectly for bad windy weather does not blow around in the wind at all. Great jacket for the price

I agree. I've got two. Navy and green. Can't fault either of them. The materials and the stitching etc are top quality. You can't go wrong for the price. And for anyone thinking of getting one, the sizing chart is spot on. Whatever your chest measurement is, look at the chart and order that size.

i have that smock and let me tell you taking it off when its rining wet is not elegant. great for keeping you dry horrible for taking it off and putting it on.

Can verify worthy. Use clear wax grease every few times. Very Slightly heavy but tough tough. Used it in harsh snow and wet slush. 100% waterproof.

Best coat I've ever owned for keeping out the weather, I camp in the woods, up in the Peak District too and take my dog out in this every day, had it for 18 months so far. Never been wet once in this and its seen enough hard downpours, plus its a tough little smock. Wouldn't hesitate in buying another when I need to.

What are these like for waterproofing? More for typical UK/Irish weather for outdoor working conditions rather than hiking through rivers as such

The male and female versions are great jackets. I do find the neoprene cuffs do get wet and retain the wet. It would be better if they used smooth neoprene as found on dry suits. That's my only criticism though.

Crap!! I don't work on a farm, or around heavy machinery, or dangerous protruding rusty nails, or the like. But gosh dang it man, I'm pretty darn sure I'm gonna be needin a pair of these boots. Don't really know why, but I don't think that really matters anymore.

I’ve had these wellingtons for about a year now and they are amazing value and very comfortable and warm through the winter months. Dog walking, shooting and everyday use they’ve seen it all and never failed yet. I’ll definitely be having another pair when mine eventually wear out but the way they perform I don’t think it’ll be any time soon. Definitely recommend them to anyone.

Worn blundstones for almost 50 years, they would once brake in in ten minutes and feel like a pair of slippers. Ever since they moved off shore the comfort quality has dropped dramatically.
