Amendments to this tutorial should include the importance of winding up the torso correctly and that the paddle stroke gets planted deeply and is more of an upward pry than a reverse sweep stroke. On an eddyline, the correct timing of lowering the upstream edge is when the hips cross the eddyline. Before this point, as the front of the boat is entering moving current, the upstream edge stays lifted. All in all this tutorial is 4/10. Incomplete, but always good to see someone trying to give good info. Keep it up.

I noticed that on the tail of the straps were two reinforced loops. Would u consider linking those loops together with a carabiner as a further safety measure?

Overhand knots are what climbers use to link ropes. It's a very strong knot, the issue really only starts when you want to untie it...that's it and nothing more

There’s one very important part about this video that people are overlooking. Even though the chances of the overhead not coming out or slim you still should not do an overhead not in a situation like that. There’s 1,000,000 kn that you could use that are way safer

Re the handwrap method: Try wrapping the rope around your hand in the opposite direction using only two wraps (not three) as in the hybrid method... ruclips.net/video/DYGdvL9-P30/видео.html. Re the twist method: After making the twists, it's more ergonomic to pinch the inside of each loop at their common "X" crossing point and fold the top loop down behind the bottom loop. These maneuvers may seem complicated or confusing using words to describe them, but they are really very simple to execute.
