Yes, that is correct. Back in 2008 it was extended by 31 meters. This ship has sailed for Crown, Cunard, Majesty, Norwegian, and last was with Fred. Olsen whom also did the extension.

The pricing is certainly at all time highs during peak travel periods. We like them a lot, but have been exploring other lines due to the pricing as well.

We loved our Alaska experience on Ovation with them.

@@HappyCalmFree Ok- so they sold the concept with computer generator pictures of the "ship" that in actuality is a very old ship that has not been refurbished to mimic the concept pictures. They were promised state of the art venues- like a golf simulator, golf shop, culinary arts classroom, and the two small pools would be made into a lap pool (even shows this on their present website). Well the pools were refurbished but no lap pool. The rest of the ship (apart from the business center) are original to the Braemar. The cabins have not been 'fully refurbished" as stated on their website. This was supposedly done back in April in Edinburgh (a lie). The carpets onboard are not even new. The hallways are gross and the cabins are so small, dated, lack storage and look NOTHING like those promised originally by Villa Vie. They can't get the ship up to code- so why bother with the interiors (right?). They can't get the ship- running properly- so they have no doctor yet, no entertainment, a skeleton crew. It's not a well oiled machine to say the least. The reason none of the mainstream cruise lines offer a cheap world cruise is because it is not profitable. The cruise lines don't want passengers on a fixed income that aren't buying drinks, expensive excursions, or gambling in the casino. Smaller ships are MORE expensive because they still have to have a crew regardless of whether there are 2- or 1000 passengers. Without onboard spending- they can't pay the crew. Gratuities are "included" with the Villa Vie Odyssey- so they don't even get that added revenue. When NCL, Royal, Carnival do a year cruise- I'd consider it, but for now only "The World" is a residential cruise ship and it is/was VERY expensive- minimum 5 million in your portfolio and the passengers had actual residences (apartments, new and professionally decorated). This ship is never leaving Belfast would be my guess.

We were happy to see your video. We had started looking at the Villa Vie videos and had the same reactions you describe here. We'll we appreciated the transparency, the behind the scenes footage is so rough and uneven it concerned us a bit. The whole task looked like such a daunting effort to get all of that done in time. But in the end I think we are left mostly feeling that for them to do this, they most have confidence that they can pull it off and must a least have integrity since they aren't hiding behind a curtain.

Please. In Villa Vie, Vie is pronounced Vee and it means Life in French.

The company doesn't allow anyone to post anything negative or critical, or if you do there are consequences, I paid the company to live on that trip for 3 and 1/2 years, because I was critical of the delays after 3 months and changes to the all-inclusive package I was sold, changes to the itinerary that was advertised on the website, the company abruptly terminated my 3 1/2 year contract with no notice, leaving me stranded in Belfast after waiting and being patient for almost 3 months and paying my own expenses during that time after having paid for the cruise. I was left on my own to find my way back to the States as a solo female senior Traveler, they have not returned my belongings on the ship and have not refunded one Penny of my money 6 weeks later. I am currently looking for legal representation

I've been on a few cruises with helicopter evac's. While it's interesting to watch the helicopter and the crew, sad they are there of course.
