    How's it going, now, a year later? doogie, this helical-gear-type "limited slip" differential design has been around for decades. It's pretty cool. It is in a class by itself. A lot of Jeep guys are using it, too. Competitive rock crawling rigs, though, are using custom axles and air lockers 'cuz they're also running 800 HP and 40" tires at KoH (last time I looked - they could be even more outrageous, today). But for performance street vehicles, for street/strip, for reasonable tires (32 - 37") on offroad vehicles, the Eation Detroit TrueTrac is working really well. I'm about to do a similar setup to the RAM in this video but to my 5.0 Coyote-powered '16 F150 - going TrueTrac and 4.09 Richmond Gear r&p in that truck's 8.8 Super rear axle. I'm running 34" X 10.50 X R17LT D Load Range in a mild offroad rig. The diff is in it's box, the gears are on their way! Cheers!

    for any one that wants to run these KaTech heads.....DO IT , I've tested a bunch of G3 heads both on the bench and in real life drag applications, Their 5.7 CNC program , is worth 15hp . test mule was a 392ci (5.7block 4.05 stroker crank) cam was Howards .625 lift , static compression was 11.5 to 1, stock SRT intake manifold. 95 mm tb ,long tube heads 3 inch tre duals (gas tank was moved to the bed so we could run true duals with x pipe and equal length all the way out the rear) 2014 RCSB 4x2 ram 8sp truck(4050lbs race weight) was running 11.00s with MMX ported eagle heads, 10.90s with HHP ported eagle heads, 10.80s with the Katech, best run was 10.78@124mph with the Katech heads.... all test were done at a track rental at atco raceway.....in 2021, each set of heads had 6 back to back runs, no cool down between runs, all 3 sets of test were ran with the same tune and timing map, all 6 runs per set were started with engine at 180F ECT. temp was 74f at the start and 78F mid afternoon DA did not change from 1st set to last set.

      Yes, it did. A box that was barely adequate is size. The Hemi head was literally stuffed in there. They did not follow their own instructions for packaging a very valuable cylinder head. Did you see the photos that are still on the website today? Extensive work done to the chambers in their advertisement. It also lists hand blending in the description. There was hardly any hand blending done to my heads. I imagine they spent about a total of 2 minutes or less hand blending on my heads. They also agreed that the website was rather "Misleading" but have yet to change it. Nor did they offer anything to make me a satisfied customer when given the chance. Eye opening video for sure. I totally get why you'd be disappointed!! I would be too. In the business of making HP, the crankshaft doesn't know who's name is on the valve covers. It's all math and airflow. I don't understand why a business that is trying to "Break into" a new potential market wouldn't put forth that little bit of extra effort to try and make their product all it could (and should) be. They certainly did for the photos used on their web site. The little bit of blending you've got to finish them shouldn't be to bad, but it looks like the transition from the intake ports into the bowls could use a little work as well. I know a lot of times when they develop a CNC port they have to leave a small percentage out (example: 3% off the model port) to allow for core shift but damn. I guess they're just trying to capitalize on their name and reputation.....until videos like this eventually diminish that. Sorry for the bad experience and good luck with your build!!

    Very helpful, thanks. After looking it over, I thought this was probably how it was done, but it's best to know "for sure" before risking any damage to the trim. I intend to paint the monotone light green metallic RF fender on my 1977 D200 adventurer to match the rest of the original medium & dark green metallic finish. And I'll probably reshoot the dark green metallic on the hood, cowl & top of LF fender while I'm at it. I had already replaced some of the clips on the wide aluminum lower trim so that pointed me in the right direction. However, I've worked on other vehicles where the upper and lower mounting methods were entirely dissimilar, especially when the upper trim was a spear such as what's found on these trucks.

    I think you have the largest cooling set ever installed on a 300, hahaha! Three questions - Why did you choose the 90 degree styled oil adapter from Improved Racing? Did you have clearance issues around the fitting that we cannot see? It looks as if the 90 degree adapter put your 90 degree fittings closer to the engine cradle. Tstat - Why 212* over the 200* degree option from IR?

    • @ZeroEmpire
      @ZeroEmpire 6 месяцев назад

      Yea, it's a pretty comprehensive cooing system. Go big or go home, right? The 90 Deg. adapter was a better overall fit and offered more clearance in other areas, although it is a little close to the cradle. I actually bought the straight adapter as well to see which one was the better fit (very nice parts). Most racers go for the higher temp from what I understand. They want the oil to get up to its optimum operating temp as quickly as possible. Water boils @ 212 deg. your oil needs to get up to near that temp to boil off any condensation that occurs from the combustion process and normal heating & cooling cycles, especially on a streetcar. That's my thinking anyway. I'm sure this can be debated. Some good info on the subject here: www.motortrend.com/how-to/engine-oil-temperature/ Thanks for watching!

    • @350Zquicksilver
      @350Zquicksilver 6 месяцев назад

      @@ZeroEmpire - I'm learning here myself and while your setup up is impressive, I wonder if your 50 row motor oil cooler is too large for the street (occasional track session). I read through the comments and you mentioned having to run it hard to get the motor oil up to 215*. In other words, the 50 row and 212* IR adapter are on stand by until needed, which seems seldom. Also seems your 300 is extremely efficient at keeping motor oil temps below 215*. Thanks for the link... "For a dual-purpose car, engine oil needs to be at least 220 degrees F to burn off all the deposits and accumulated water vapor. " Just an observation, thought I was seeing things (crazy)... LoL. During your video I noticed the IR adapter box label was rated 212*, but the actual IR adapter print states 215*. Any explanation? I was going to call IR and ask, what temp does your thermostatic adapter plate >start< to open. I've read the Derale 15702 starts to crack at 160* and it's fully open at 180*. Not sure where I read or heard, but any >hard< 90 degree bends in a system reduce flow by 40%. To be honest, I have know idea if that makes a difference on the IR 90 degree adapter. It could be just reference to flow in fluid systems in general. How is the IR adapter working for you, any drips from the motor oil cooling system in general? I understand this is one giant experiment for all of us, but I am just getting started and the reason I'm asking so many questions.

      The 50 row is rather large, but I wanted a system that would handle pretty much anything I could throw at it and be able to keep oil temps under control and the engine alive. Is it more than most "street cars" need......yea probably, but with the system being thermostatically controlled it works great for day-to-day driving and has a large capacity for extended track & high RPM use? Setrab also includes a "horsepower range" for their coolers, which is another spec I used in deciding on the size. If you're using a thermostat to control flow to the coolers, I don't think you can go too large. www.setrab.us/products/oilcoolers/engine/index.html I believe the thermostat on the Improve Racing adapter begins to open at around 204 & fully opens at 212-215 degrees. I don't have to run it Real Hard to get the temps up, but the system seems to do its job well. Even before the coolers oil temps didn't get too high under normal daily driving. I'm sure "hard" bends do restrict flow somewhat, that's why I went with the Setrab & Areoquip fittings, all their bends are nice and smooth. I've not had any issues with any of part of this entire system. thankfully. The Improved Racing stuff seems to very well-built, top-notch stuff as well as the Setrab coolers! I've used them before with excellent results. They are not cheap but are well worth the money if you ask me. No worries about the questions. I enjoy helping out where I can. Hope your project works out for you. Keep us updated.

      @@ZeroEmpire is it worth it ? Any gains ?

      @ZeroEmpire 3 месяца назад

      @@patkkk323 I would say it's worth it if you're rebuilding your heads that have over 100K miles. Mine weren't too bad, but there was some slight pitting on the original exhaust valves. The shop that did my heads recommended new valves for the five-angle valve job they did. I don' know how much of a gain I'll get from these since they are basically the stock size, but I'm sure it's better than re-using the old valves and I believe these will last longer as well. Thanks for watching!

    Hey man Matt Robertson here and as you know and shouted out at the start of your vid, I did the first full-on Mopar cooling setup that kind of got that class of mod going.. I will shout out in turn to the late Bob Crespo who was the evil genius who did the real work in the trenches on that system, implementing the good ideas, coming up with several on his own and smacking down the bad ideas when they came up. One thing I REALLY like about your variation is the hose setup. As you know we went with hard stainless lines and over the years it turned out those were the system's weak point.. Vibration over time in just the wrong spot caused a shift under the hood and wore a hole in the transmission cooler line. I replaced with braided stainless bridge but your way is absolutely the right way. Interesting how you chose a stacked plate cooler for the power steering. We stayed away from those for that system because the monster finned cooler I used was totally free flowing, and also increased fluid capacity so much it doubled up on making it impossible to overheat the system while working it so hard on a road course track day.

      Hey Matt, Thanks for the kind words. Your ideas where a big help to me on this project and what actually got me inspired to do it. I've used the "Push-lock" hose & Setrab coolers in that past with good luck, so that's why I went them. The stainless braided is great too, just a bit more expensive. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks, I was wondering what something like that would look like. I built a 1/24 scale model of s adventurer to test the paint and body mods. Only problem was the grill. BIG difference between the first and second generation Dodge grill. One of the only thing that was wrong with my 89 was a missing chunk of grill. After seeing yours I'm wondering if they came from the factory like that 🤔

    • @ZeroEmpire
      @ZeroEmpire 8 месяцев назад

      As far as I know I don't think they came from the factory like that, but I'm no expert on the subject. Thanks for watching!
