@MikeCalloway No that's not it. Resonaters don't change the tone. Actually resonated equal length mid for F82 sounded the best.

Edit: after a few sessions of driving in the exhaust and a possible slight exhaust leak was fixed, it seems the rasp does no longer occur at 2000, only at coldstart instead (which is manageable as it only lasts a second or so). EU owners be warned though; if you're planning to use bimmerlink or similar to drive with valves open, you will need an OPF delete, as the car will instantly go into limp mode if you floor it with valves forced open. Seems like theres no other way to fix this issue from my attempts so far.

@@Exata1337 The 2k rasp I know would be super vibraty throughout the cabin. I don't know if it was particularly a fart can noise. I guess I'm gonna participate in the upgrade program and see how different it is to V1.

@@anthonyt4981 didnt really pay much attention to vibrations in the cabin during the rasp, so cant really say much in that regard. overall tho, after the car was driven for a bit, the rasp is now only present for a few seconds during cold start or if the car has been off for a few days during cold weather (and by cold i mean 7 celcius or below). initially right after installing, the rasp was very bad, but it was as good as gone after a few days and after the exhaust leak was fixed. not sure how gen 1 was, but vs. the stock setup on the m2cs, id say this setup is definitely worth it if the only drawback is a rasp that only occurs during cold starts in actual cold weather.

@@Exata1337hi mate, I’m about to pull the trigger on the same (Gen 2 EL mid pipe with straight pipes) for my M2C and just wanted to ask - I know it’s hard to quantify but how much of a sound increase do you reckon you got with this? Are the pops/burbles louder or more aggressive? And how does the sound compare to the Gen 1? I’ve seen heaps of videos of the Gen 1 setup and it sounds great in my opinion, but there seems to be no videos of the Gen 2 setup. Cheers mate

@@RB26DETT_ "unfortunately" the m2cs doesnt have any pops or burbles naturally, unlike the m2c, so hard to say anything in that regard, though i will say my setup with this midpipe and the eisenmann exhaust has made the minischule burbles during neutral-revving a bunch more noticeable, so id assume that for the m2c, its going to be a decent increase, though i dont think the m2cs has much if any burbles at all during actual driving. cold start difference is MASSIVE in terms of volume, at times almost "too loud" compared to the super quiet stock setup on the m2cs. once warm, the idle isnt something cops would look twice at to fine you for anyways. i dont have any real life reference when it comes to the gen 1, but its near identical to the resonated gen 1 video of an m2cs with the same setup here on youtube by a guy named "Daniel T"
