Did that one end of the season 2023. Nice camping at the beginning and nice scenery where you're by the river. Had some trouble in the same spot, where that winch point is. Good trail. Check out the Red Mountain trails. Coyote lake is great

Went last summer. I like it. Reminds me of fordyce trail. But easier.

I am looking in to doing this, thinking its time for a new fuel pump. I am dreading dropping the tank, my 99 has 177,800 miles so I am sure its going to be a shltshow. this would spare me the agony of dropping it. I did see another video and they cut wires even with the tank dropped. Wish I saw the process with the angle grinder.

You are absolutely right on! This is an underrated trail, for sure. I love that "bonus line" you busted the RH rear shaft at. I've had some big grins going up that one in my old Land Rover pickup on 37's (sometimes 40's) Sometimes ya gotta give it a little to get up it, luckily for me just fun tire smoke and a launch. (Healthy iron block 6.0 LS keeps the nose down and the grins up). Good times!!

I need to get up to big bear next year.

Totally Awesome "Frank the Tank". I've always wanted to do the Rubicon. I just got back from a 2 week vacation with my wife at Lake Tahoe. We did everything except the Rubicon trail. But again all I had was a rented Dodge RAM 1500. It was 4x4, but no way was i going to pay for what I'm sure i would do to a stock pickup.

Well, its awesome but I am afraid LJ's are so precious the old man in me worries about keeping it in decent shape....In other words go at least 35's with a 4 inch currie twin locked 44's and some real sliders for next time just in case.

I understand when I first got my 2021 JT rubicon, I couldn't wait to take it out there. Dumb on my part, it was brand new then. Stock they are very capable, now with 3.5"lift and 35's that all you need.

37s, a lift and a good belly pan will greatly reduces the body crunching. Just sayin.
