First run of the Year on my H2 Street/Drag bike
Wheeled the old girl out, drained the stale fuel, put some fresh in, blew the flat front tyre up, chucked it in the van, drove to Shakey . . . . . . and ran a 10.7 :)

H2 750 CR - Case Reed H2 a quick ride . . . .

A brief ride on Henrys '74 H2, fitted with case reeds, bottom end work by Henry, top end work by the late Chris Ritchie. The bike is only around 110BHP but it comes on S T R O N G! - The Speedometer is in KPH. The second clip features myself bricking it as I approach a cop car at 100 MPH in a neighbourhood somewhere near Chicago.

I just came across this clip and couldn't resist uploading it for posterity - 2009 and a meeting at Shakey racewway, the camera is aboard my H2 as leave my bike for a minute in the lane, Chris sets it filming . . . . A wonderful engineer and a guy with a GREAT sense of humour . . Rest In Peace Chris!

The future of transport - Seats TWO!

I am still shaking my head in disbelief that anyone could possibly build this and then market it! it takes 5 minutes for Two normal size people to squeeze in, and then there is no leg room! Myself and "Minnesota Mark" were the first duo to "ride" the Gherkin in 30 years . . .
H1 Trike - The future of transport?

Built in the early 70's as a 2 wheeler and then adapted as a 3 wheeler, this unique vehicle was billed as the "Future of transportation" . . Just HOW MANY drugs did they take back then?

What's the muppet with the K on his back think he's doing? Is he looking for a place to stop for a picnic? Woof!
Some dodgy riding there.
Brilliant 👍
Absolutely love 2 strokes.Hear that motor sing when its in the power band.
Just remember,,,,,162 mph on the speedo is really only 147!
What in god's name
Straight to the comments for all the exaggerated BS fairy tales...
Oualmende Zigarre 😁
You can see the "ripple" begin around 100. Great video Rick! Cheers -Kirb
At 14, I had a 2-stroke, 250 twin Yamaha with a 6-speed. I remember the acceleration of a two stroke 40+ years later.
That's not so much a powerband as a fast-forward to the future!
Quality this mate love a old bike like this still gets up to speed speed amazing 💯
Your tachometer cable needs lube.
There is NO engine braking.
I bought a used H2 750 in 1983, refurbished it and owned and rode for 4 months. It tried to kill me once a bit over 100 mph, when I closed the throttle and it started a savage pendulum worse than one of those things you use for music. I was frozen..., but what convinced me I had to sell was a 200 km trip on the Alps, in the Gran Paradiso National Park: It destroyed me with vibrations and dried my wallet in fuel. I switched to a much quieter BMW 75/5. Now, 30 years after selling my last BMW 90/6, approaching my 75th b'day, I rode again a bike and I'm waiting for my brand new Guzzi V7 850. Safe rides to all and everyone.
Riding an H2 on the spa downhill must be terrifying
He should have driven it more balls to the wall. Not a real 750 kaw maniac after all, most of those guys are dead
Is it true it was dangerous bike?
Kawasaki, let the good times roll!
Wonderful
Awesome engine, not such great handling and absent brakes. All and all, a brilliant motorcycle. Quirky.
takes a real rider to master a 2 strokes powerband, not like your linear shit today.
The H1 Mach III. I had a ‘74 in the mid/late 70s when I was a teen. Darn thing almost killed me. lol. It was fun thou.!
Nice job Rick!
I remember it well, it was a fast bike. But over 5500 rpm was like existential experience. That is probably what you feel when you're are approaching a neutron star
Hola sr Rick.
I had a 1971 Cali 500. I wacked that thread long all the time through the power band. Watching for cops all the while...
How fast where you going??? "Well, between 100 and 120 Mph and between 10.000 and 12.000 rpm" 😂
The widow maker.
My 1975 s3a could pull a 500 interceptor to 90 stock, mine did...
you ride like 15 years old gays first time on motorcycle.
Wow! that thing really tachs out!! Major top end!!
Mine used to bottom out over 12500 RPM. this one seems to be at sleep?
dude ride it like you own it....id throw some street tires on a kx 500 dirt bike and whoop you around that track
Throttle blipping like a fucking boss... kudos. Nice to see lads that can truly pilot vehicles on the track
I think the speedo cable may have been dry with maybe a bit too much bend in it. The tach on the other hand I dont know whats up with that thing but that would drive me bonkers.
It's a common issue with old meters, the dampening leeches out over a period, and yes, it DID drive me nuts so I had them both re-damped shortly after this
@@rickbrett9173 Glad you got them fixed. :)
Sweet sound of my youth. I rode Kawasaki Triples and it was really amazing what a good sticky set of tires would do for the handling. They were “flexible flyers” however so were many other Bikes back then. I was fortunate to start riding at age 4 and came to understand that on a lot of these Bikes the trick was to blast down the straights and ease through the corners. It’s a shame people allowed Scumbag politicians to deprive us of 2 stroke street Bikes, just when they were really getting good.
Lucky bastard.
I tre tipi con i gilet verdi della kawa, anzichè salutare a destra ed a manca, perchè non si scavano ?
Just what exactly is the f*#kwit in the replica leathers doing at 01:57 onwards? What?
bruh this bike has some juice in it LOL
Hey get in that power band an stay there
I rebuilt it like 5 times I think, and rode it from Modesto CA to Duluth Minnesota lol..... crazy bike
Had a 69 H1 500 loved that bike I was the wheelie king
We're they having a picnic or what
Never had a H1 or H2. Some of my buddies did though. These machines were something else. However, I did have a three cylinder Suzuki two stroke. It wasn't a slouch either. LOL
Edasss
It's rumored some bikes were secretly filled with Nitrous in the frame and would only release the gas after 7000 RPMs, this may be one of them 😂👍😂
You need to keep that rocket right at the power band, maybe 6k RPM so when you come out of the turn you just crack it and you are gone baby!
Ah....the H2 Kawasaki, the old widow maker!!!!!
