My name is Justin and it is my job to test drive new cars. I decided to post my videos here, on RUclips. They not brilliant I’ll admit but then again, this is RUclips, not TopGear. I’m learning as I go along. My idea is to give you a glimpse of what I get to experience on a daily basis.
I write for one of the main publication houses in South Africa. Don’t expect to see lions and other various wild animals in my videos, this is not the National Geographic channel. Living with the Volkswagen eGolf
Electric cars are hot topics lately. While I get the performance benefits and just about every electric car hitting 100kph in under 4 seconds, shouldn't there be a focus on making them 'normal'? Volkswagen South Africa handed me the keys to their eGolf. An all-electric Golf 7.5.
It's been out in Europe for a while, not on sale in S.A though but it gives insight into the current charging infrastructure. it is also a car that I could easily live with. Here are my impressions.

Ok so I got behind the wheel of the latest #BMW #M3 and damn, it is a bit of a handful. While it encourages you to push it hard it then just randomly sits back and laughs as you sh!t your pants. I explain more in this video.

I got behind the wheel of the #Lexus #LC500 convertible a few months ago. While it might not be the fastest within its segment it sure does offer a fantastic driving experience! The sound that this naturally aspirated engine makes is amazing!

Nobody seems to know: those three differential locks can ENGAGE WHILE IN MOTION. Now, that's quite something! We use them in the Kgalagadi and Richtersveld deserts, in the arid rocky Karoo, they do well off the beaten track.
1969, not 1979. The civilian version only came in 1979, yes. But the Shah of Iran willed a 'baby Unimog' (pron ooh nee mogg) in 1969, and the military version W460 came in 1973. Not G-wagon; that's what the inept call it. Geländewagen (ghuh len duh vah ghin) means 'terrain vehicle.' Please always get the actual facts.

Do you find the seats too tight fitting? Does it hurt your thighs?
To judge this car it needs much more than just a day or two. I drove these cars for a decade and they have a number of unpractical issues. The space on the back seat is far to small for people above 16 years old, unless they have no legs. Also the back door with the spare wheel mounted is far to heavy to open and close. Also the wind noise while driving faster is really disturbing. To cruise around in Jozi this car attracts the wrong people. I would not drive around town in a G wagon. Greetings from 🇩🇪. 😊😊

According to my dealer it was axed. They will beta on the eletric only version and keep the 63amg. So if you want a G diesel order fast because they will stop producing it soon.

Sound system is OK, not the best. Subwoofer is not overhead, it’s in the rear luggage compartment.

Should be getting mine in a manual this week. Upgrading from the 1st gen regular Swift also in MT. Excited!
Visually, an almighty mishmash. The shape of the side is pig ugly awful and doesn't seem to gel with the the back and front of the car to make for a cohesive whole. Looks as if the thing was designed by a dissenting committee.
Next time a bit more of the car (market price point, rear seat comfort, safety features, boot size, road holding, fuel efficiency) and less about the trip to beautiful Cape 😉 Also doing a direct comparison with other cars in the segment which a typical buyer would consider. Great little car, wound like to see what it does in the local market or if existing Jazz owners stay with what they have.

Are the automatics a CVT gearbox or suzuki own built TCSS double clutch gearbox ?. Anyone know.
The Auto is a true auto not a CVT as a CVT wont take the torque.

Just spotted this review, sorry. Very good car I have the manual non hybrid Sport. I would like to try the automatic, but they are not available in England. Pocket rocket is a good description and very good on fuel. Also the kind of reliability that you don't get with other makes. It routenly puts the wind up larger more powerful cars. Thanks for watching! Yeah the Auto is great but I do like the manual, however with current traffic conditions the auto is the logical choice. Reliability is so good on these cars.
I love my egolf and we have done 25000 mils. It is really good and fun to drive
Great car but not better than M4 in any particular way
bet you compare an Flagship Smartphone with a cheaper one too. because thats the same stupid shit you're doing. if you do not want to become poor because the maintenance is extremely expensive + insurence if you want a comftable Daily Driver who dont succ you dry before you even start (dont get me wrong you can keep under 10L/km with an M4 too) And if you got the money you can still improve your m440i to the point where you can get up on M4 level. But still. its an M-Performance and not a M Car. dont just say "hehe M4 fast brrrt" means its "better"

With forthcoming legislation favouring green motor vehicles, and negative bias on the use of diesel fuels going forward, is the 400d already approaching prohibition? I am Pro-G Class! Not happy with the electric prototype currently promoted. (Comment posted 30/Jan/2022)
The infotainment system is not a touchscreen system because of safety and usability when you go around in the terrain and in traffic because you can't "see" with you fingers on a touch screen compared to buttons.
Car and Driver had it 0-60 in 3.8 sec.
