1:02 pretty trippy seeing the train move while producing no sound
Class 442s were great EMUs and it's a disgrace they have been scrapped as they had plenty of life in them
Wait, they still go to brussels? I tought the 373's cannot go to brussels anymore as they dont have emtrs
They do they can't go the amsterdam
@@thomascleary83 how so? the whole thing was that etcs could not be fitted in those trains, and nowadays you need etcs to reach brussels.
@melaniedrogr951 when alstom where building the class 373 they designed them in a way that they can run to Brussels the can only go as far as Brussels the new system was I think fitted to them when they where getting refurbished
@@thomascleary83 ahh i see. I tought the class 373 could not be fitted with etcs, and that that was why a new class was ordered (aside from needing extra capacity for the route to amsterdam). Buuut i might have misread that into that it was not possible to install both etcs and atb (the dutch train signalling system). Because as far as i know, the class 373 was allowed to travel further than brussels, within belgium. It is just that only brussels south had the required facilities for the border checks. (in belgium)

Oh?
Nice video, great crossover. :)
Nice video mate. :)
Was that bell its warning sounder, like the 66 having the beeping before their startup? Amazing shot anyway, I absolutely love Class 70s, very underrated in my opinion. Anyway, awesome catch!
That sounds like a SD70ACE idle sound
These are pretty much just an SD40-2 in the British loading gauge.
Love the sound of that V12 purring away.
V16 😉
@@NorthernMetro Thanks man. I must of mixed this one up with the ES44AC's as they use the GEVO12 power pack :).

They usually transport dead bodies this way too. Through the Tube tunnels. Some refrigerated units are used to transport corpses through the Underground. Quite dramatic and creepy at the same time.
Me when I lie
@@benivanphillips An Underground worker once told me about these "freight Tubes" which would secretly operate during "out-of-hours" times. So not to alarm or disturb passengers. Their very sound can be quite haunting and scary. When he worked the "night shift" he would often hear these "freight tubes" or ghost tubes" coming through carrying their load of dead dead bodies from hospital mortuaries.
@@sanchoodell6789 if by bodies you mean loads of used sleepers and ballast then sure
@@sanchoodell6789Think someone's been pulling your leg mate.
@@SouthLondonRailwayPhotography No! These are "true" stories. He's reliable. He even heard tales from old timers who had worked on the Tube for decades. They would often talk of the "body transports" as they were known. When they did the night shifts. When playing cards in the break room late into the small hours. One could often hear the rumble of the "body transports" rattling through the station on the platforms to unknown destinations. Some bodies were of soldiers from far away foreign battles, some from hospital mortuaries . Staff were so afraid to go down and look. They were never allowed to talk of the "body transports" as this was taboo and would frighten "live" passengers from using the network. Most Tube workers dreaded doing the night shift.
Nice video! :)

If only if it was from Platform 4, then it would make headlines.
Station manager: "We did it, we're finally actually Stratford INTERNATIONAL! 🍾🥳"
+1Up if people actually boarded and alighted
Why platform 4?
@@joelc9439 because that was suppose to be the Paris/Brussels bound platform. Platform 1 being alighting only for London bound services
