​@@Bear-cx5lkprobably because it's an extremely conceited and prideful thing to say. "Oh I'm not Catholic because I read the Bible". Brother in Christ, who gave the Church the Bible? It started by word of mouth, from the mouth of Jesus to His Apostles and from the Apostles to the Church universal. And who canonized the scriptures you and I use today? The Councils of Hippo and Carthage, both of which were Orthodox ecumenical councils. The Bible is without error because the successors of the Apostles brought forward their teachings and canonized them by their authority which traces back to the Apostles. The Bible doesn't address new heresies, so is there a Church in history that "adds" doctrine to address the new heresies like Arianism? Not the Bible, but the CHURCH universal! The Catholic Church!

@jackross5698 The catholic church did not put together the bible. In the first century, they had to make sure that all the churches agreed which scriptures were gonna be Cannon in the new testament. Also how is it privileged i'm literally just saying a statement. I am not joking when I'm saying when I commented. I'm just going to follow the bible catholics actually just got mad. @jackross5698 I'm not arguing on the logistics on the bible. I am just saying if it is against a Bible. I'm not doing it. That's why I cannot be a catholic. That's also why I cannot choose just any denomination. Because there are many denominations that do something that are strictly against the Bible. Or conflicts with it. In example of this is the methodist church. If I'm not mistaken, they say if you have to get the tongues you're closer to God. That's not true. Presbyterians say baptism saves. In the body and the blood of christ become physical with the bread and wine. Even though in the bible, Jesus declares that what he says is spirit rather than the flesh and physical. Since not just the Catholic things. But that's just the biggest example that I can think of. Also, they do not like it when I question their doctrine too much and I ask about bible questions. They get really butt hurt. I cannot be in a church that is not willing to humble themselves in question if they are truly interpreted the bible correctly. I cannot be in a church that says man in God or equal. Because under the claims that is, the church is unfallible so therefore, our men that run the church are unfallible. Even though this is disputed in the Gospels. When Jesus told Peter get behind me satan. Because peter the first pope went against God's will. Also the things I worship in mary and the saints. And also changing the ten commandments that is not Ok. I do not agree with the hierarchy of the church either. I guess I can be kind of like. I just wanna do any of the catholic things because it's simply against the bible. I would do any traditions that are not against the Bible. And I could do in faith. Like baptism and a body of blood and christ in the remembrance of him. Worship in praises to him and reading of the scriptures. Offering up prayers and everything else. I have no problem with any of these things. I only have a problem with traditions that are against the bible. And I do not agree that we should follow teachings that are conflicted with the bible. It is perfectly fine to retreat on your own. That are inspired by the Bible. Our stuff like that but our first route has to be the bible. That's another thing that you pointed out the church or the caffe church or should say, believes that it holds authority of the bible because it made the bible. No, it did not it was. A collective of all the different churches agreeing that had to be from an eyewitness account or someone that who knew and I would account. Next, it had to be that all the churches had to agree that these were the true writings. Then it had to be inspired by the whole spirit. Then it also had to make sure that it did not conflict with any of the Old Testiment. I am fine with bean in one church together as brothers and sisters of christ. But I do not call myself a Catholic these. I do not follow the catholic teachings I follow the teachings of christ. Get the Catholic teachings just happened to be in line with the teachings of Christ then wonderful, but I do not count myself a Catholic. I count myself a father christ. If the Baptist or the protestant teachings are in line with the Bible and of Christ, it is not make me a Baptist. Or a protestant it makes me a Follower of christ. Besides it's very dangerous to say well i'm not a Follow a christ i'm a catholic. No i'm not a follower of christ i'm an orthodox or Protestant or anything else. Because we lose our identity in christ Just because we have this. My denomination is the right genomination and everyone else is Wrong and going to hell. I'm not saying you were saying this. The issue you have brought forth seems to fall back on the idea that if it's not in the Bible, I won't assent to it. This is a dangerous fallacy to fall into, because how many exterior traditions do you assent to that are not explicitly in the scriptures? I'll name some; the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, the nature of Christ's divinity and humanity, and the practices of the sacraments ie. confession, communion, and baptism. Those concepts listed above are not explicit in the scriptures (at least, how to formally do the practices). Do you deny them? Do you think they are unimportant? When God speaks He changes reality, binds the faithful, and demands justice. He has spoken that anyone who does not partake of his gifts, such as baptism or repentance, that such people cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Strictly speaking, you ought to want Truth in its entirety. So how do you find the Truth? How do you know that you understand the scriptures well enough to formulate the Christian life?? The answer is in Philip, who met with the Ethiopian Eunuch in the NT. The Ethiopian was reading from Isiah regarding the Christ, and even though he had the scriptures right in front of him, he could not understand and he humbled himself in his lack of understanding. It was Philip the evangelist who approached the Eunuch (Acts 8:26), and upon being guided by divine teaching (through Philip) the Ethiopian Eunuch was baptized. You said that you took issue with people not being humble and you take that as a sign of a bad spirit (in other words, false doctrine). Well, the Church is made up of sinful and fallible men. Each Apostle sinned, and Peter and Judas sinned the greatest in betraying our Lord. Does that mean Christ's Church utterly failed? By no means!! The Church is aided by the Holy Spirit to never fall despite any stumbling that occurs. God uses fallible men and sends them out to teach infallibly His ways, even though they may stumble they shall never fall! And Christ prayed, yes he PRAYED, for Peter that his faith would never faulter. You cannot sufficiently live out the Christian life by sitting under a tree reading a holy book, because Christ gave us the Church, and to His Church he left the Advocate, the Holy Spirit! Though she may stumble (the Church) she will never fall! The gates of Hell shall never prevail against her! So if you have a hard time with denominations and this or that theology, keep in mind that the pillar and buttress of Truth is the Church! (1 Timothy, 3:15). That means the Church is visible and she has a foundation which is Christ Himself. And you should be able to stumble into this Truth as the Ethiopian Eunuch did, but it takes humility and grace. I pray that you find that, however way you deem most appropriate.

It’s not fear as in being afraid, it’s fear of respect and awe, as far as I see it. You shouldn’t follow God because you’re afraid of him, nor do good because you’re afraid of him. You should do it out of love, and because you choose to. God bless you, and I hope you have an amazing day!
