Rudra Veena is divine. Then comes SurBahar and finally the Sitaar. The sound from the Rudra Veena is a weeping tone- it cuts through the heart. The Gandhar touch first time is very soothing

They call it "phin-phia" in thailand and combodia. Its literally the same instrument with same playing technique. Can have anywhere from 1 to 7 strings. Main string happens to be made of copper, rest strings, sympathetic, are generally made of steel. The muaical tradition of india and thiland are well connected, and some of the instruments now endangered in india, are still prevailent jn south east asia. Its fascinating to see. Thank god you’re playing the original true rudra veena not the funny one made by dagars. Just work on tempo, vibrancy of meends and gamaks along with lot of improvisation. Mark my words you’ll be on of the greatest “real” veena players of present generation

@@silverghost5752 have you seen what instrument they play? Say If you deform sitar or sarod from its original shape and form , make it look and sound different for your own convenience, would you still call that sarod/sitar?
@@supratimdas1234 It's a matter of opinion regarding size and shape. Ustad Vilayat Khan and Pt Ravi Shankar have made Innovations and changes to the sitar to take on their own distinct approaches. The quality of sound of the Dagar bani, especially its timbre and subtlety is hard to beat. I am, of course, biased because I adore the rudra veena of Ustad Zia M Dagar as also that of Ustad Asad Ali Khan. There's little I have heard thus far which has persuaded me to think otherwise.
