Brother of Contra Bass member that year. Would have marched with him but I committed myself to the Army. I never gave credit to this show because I was young and holding everything up to an impossible standard. Listening to it in 2024, I am so impressed with this show and so proud of my brother for doing this. I am jealous I never got to march DCI with him.

Thanks for posting this! I marched that season playing Contra. What a great season that was! Playing finals was an amazing experience. Too bad the Canadian video/broadcast rights were FUBAR. If anyone has a private recording of the Finals performance, please post!!!

I wish someone would upload the concord pavilion tape of this before all the drum parts were watered down. They won drums congrats but, erased half the notes.

I was there. I was in the Spirit of Atlanta (we took 7th). Saw this up in the stands after our performance. Most incredible drum corps experience of my life. This groundbreaking style was mind-blowing and started a trend in drum corps performance that is still ongoing today. Phenomenal.

Saw this show at finals at Gillette in 2005…. I wasn’t a fan at the time - but after watching it a few times with headphones on I realize now that this show truly was a masterpiece.

I know there are many shows to love from the Cadet catalog....as for me , this is my favorite offering for a few reasons! Always pushing the design elementals! 1986 is another favorite!

My favorite show of this corps. I don't know if they had marched a cleaner show if the would have placed higher. It's been to long ago to remember.

Another 70s corps where the monster bass player doesn't even have a left hand mallet.

This had to be heard live to be believed.

Chills at the end of that opener. Big risk, big payoff.

I will comment first. This show i was in performing on mellophone, i filled a spot due to injury.. savvy that i managed to learn this in a single week one month before finals. The vets alluded this show to 2003 Pathways by SCV because of the technical agility as an opener required of us. I truly enjoyed the contemporary exposition of Key Poulan's originals, musically.. conceptually tidy and made for a complete show themed Perpetual Motion. The colorguard I think did an exceptional job of conducting all their work and choreography with class. I would march in this corps again, so much tradition inherent. Believe me, i really learned more about myself through the facility of teamwork set by an amazing staff. Will never forget this experience!! ❤

When i talk about my favorite shows this is always one of the first i mention. Absolute banger.
