Is this 2024? The title says 2023 🤔
It's so strange. I don't know why RUclips started pushing this again a year later! Yes, it was 2023.
Gotta tax us for green new deal . Global warming you know ... stfu dems
You're making me jeaulous of last year!!!
Awww. You didn't get to ride last year? Well, maybe you didn't miss out on as much as you think. The lifts were often closed so often because of the wind and snow, it felt like we could hardly ski it.
Why is this on my feed now?
Exactly! I'm wondering the same thing. It would have been nice to get the boost from RUclips last year haha.
Aka the Bass Hole. It's a great ride and a fine way to Mineral Basin. Lot's of history around there.
Hahaha. Nice
so the museum is showing what was there before they built a ski resort? got it
Yep! Before, building, and operations including a history of ski patrol, and avalanche control.
this is last year!!!!!!!!!!
YEAHH last year was so good!
It's kind of funny the way RUclips boosted it 11 months after I posted it lol
i managed to make it out a bunch last year. too bad its a bit slow this year
February and now early March is working out though!
Hi. How many gondola rides are out there at Mammoth lakes? We booked one via the Mammoth mountain website and believe the ride will take to the top of the mountain. This view is amazing though. Great video.
Thanks. Sorry that I missed your comment. There are two at Mammoth. One that takes you from the Village to one of the base lodges... That this video. It's free and you don't have to book it. The other one goes from Main lodge that starts a couple of miles up a road from Village at Main lodge. It goes to the top. Did you go?
😂🏁
Which lift does the Village Gondola take you to?
Village Gondola drops off at Canyon Lodge, which the main lift is the Canyon Express but there are a few other lifts, like Schoolyard and Chair 8.
I was there and your report was spot on. It was historic!
It was a fun day, huh! I wish I got footage of Climax and I could have included it!
0:21 first time i see 2 ski lifts not only crossing each other, but using the same support tower (can't really call the towers, more like poles)
Wow. I'm amazed you caught that in the split second that it went by. I knew Thunder Unbound chair crossed under the Gondie, but never noticed that it shared a tower!
Thanks for posting. I'm obsessed with the fact ur still skiing and in Cali never the less!
And thanks for watching. 😊It was a truly amazing year.

OMG... I just had the trippiest thing happen. I opened Google on my phone to do a search. On top of the news and human interest articles, below the search bar, was a screenshot that I recognized from one of my videos. IT TURNED OUT TO BE AN ARTICLE IN POWDER! MAGAZINE FEATURING MY VIDEO! WHAT?!?! 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you, Matt Lorelli!
Hi! I'm a new channel and if you like to see some of the crazy things I capture while skiing the slopes, I love sharing them. Hope to see you around and I love interacting with you in the comments.
Used to go to Mammoth when I lived in Vegas
Time for you to come back! ❤
I am 10 and i am compting in a shlush cup
Oh wow. Good luck and have fun!
Cute
She is very cute
Indeed!
That could’ve been a commercial! Nice!!
Haha. Thanks. I still never built up the guts to drop in off that lip, even this weekend, 2 months later.
... where's the global warming idiots?
You're looking at it. Global warming won't just be warm, but it will have more crazy weather like this.
The view heading UP the mountain is even more spectacular, especially with a 360 degree view out the windows. Check that video out using a Chrome browser, RUclips App, or a VR headset here: ruclips.net/video/cp_ZWre7vCQ/видео.html
Greate video. Thanks for posting. Its like a thick layer of whipped cream was dropped on the town, then swirled. I saw this several times and enjoyed, but couldn't get a picture myself. Best part IMO starts at 2:00. Other good spots 2:42, 4:10, 5:36.
But is it going up a slope or taking a flat ride ???
it is going down from the Canyon Lodge (where there are a bunch of lifts) to the town. It's going down, but not steeply.
Is it possible to ride the gondola without being a skier or skateboarder? I'd like to ride it for the views, grab a bite to eat at the top, and then come back down. I'll be driving US-395 next month (April).
Absolutely! The gondola from the Village is completely free and doesn't require a ticket. Just jump on any time it's open. It's effectively a courtesy shuttle.
The 11K Gondola from Main lodge to the summit is a different story. There is a sightseeing ticket, I imagine is around $80, that offers amazing views of the Eastern Sierras and an interpretive center. No skis or other equipment required as you can ride it back down to the main lodge
@@The360skier Thank you so much! I will definitely look into both gondolas.
Such a shame this is California. At first glance it appears to be a great place to live.
Nice to know you will not be attending......
@@erindunebuggy9772 wouldn’t spend money in comifornia if you put a gun to my head. Rather go ski in Utah with the Jesus freaks. Snow is better there anyway.
Stay wherever the hell you are.
The views are stunning truly a once in a lifetime winter in the mountains in that area this winter will go in the record books it will be the winter that all other winters will be gaged against God Bless stay safe and please more videos
Thank you and YES I'll keep putting up more videos. I'm just starting my journey and look forward to seeing you around.
Yeah, I was up there for 4th-of-July Weekend. The ski conditions were surprisingly good for Summer!
Great video. Thank You.
Thanks. I know it was simple but I just thought it was something people wanted to see. Thanks for the compliments.
I lived there in the winter of 2001 before this Gondola was built. Where does the Gondola start and does it end ?
It brings people from the Village to the Canyon lodge. That way people staying at the Westin or the Village can just ride up straight to the slopes. It's also a great alternative parking area across from the Village. A lot of people use it to to go lunch from the slopes instead of the cafeterias on the mountain as well.
@@The360skier That's Amazing. I remember waiting in the Canyon Lodge for my bus after work, as I use to work in the Call Center in 2001~~
You just missed it... It was build 2002
Unfortunately, all that beauty is about to become a muddy torrent river. I pray fot you all with the ice dams leaks that are coming and the flooding in the basement that are on the way. That is great ride to be able to go from the upper hill area to the center of town or I guess the shopping center mall area then you can catch it back up. Much better than a bus
No basements... and no "center" of town. It goes to the "village"
Also that's not the upper hill area that's the base of the ski slopes haha
@@G_Kaz One of the bases... 😉
I am surprised that they actually have parts of the lifts going over residential buildings. Or should I say that they allowed them to build directly under them.
Houses were there first. There was a big discussion when the Gondola was proposed. The City and The Mtn really wanted it badly. That was all it took.
@@Pkerr1000 How can people stand living under that noisy thing? Or is it quieter from below?
@@deebeeeff It's pretty quite... especially since it's 30'+ above the ground. Though it's not like it's absolutely silent. I imagine if would have lived there pre-gondola days I probably would not have been too happy to have that running over my house / property. It does shut down at 5:00 or so so it's not like it is running all night.
@@deebeeeff It can hardly be heard from below. The noise what it's like inside the cabin, particularly as it passes each tower and rides over the sheave wheel train.
Ugh jealous
Yeah. Sorry that everyone couldn't be here. I hope you've found or can find some great pow soon!
@@The360skier I’m in it rn massive storm
@@zuggett I hope you stayed for Thursday and Friday!
I was there on the first week. We got 90 inches on the 4th and then another 40 inches on the 6th. And then on the 8th we got a standing ovation of another 5 feet. They closed the main Lodge twice before we left
It's been an epic Januburied indeed! And yeah, the lift closures are the biggest problem.
