Hello and welcome to the channel such that it is. I live and drive classic cars 24/7, I don’t own a modern car at all so this channel documents the cars that I buy and live with for a period of time. You’ll find more of a blog and content on my Facebook group Classic Rambling that covers the day to day “living with”, running repairs and modifications but the videos will alway find there way here. I try to do at least one major road trip on the continent a year. I will try to give you more content here when I can.

I currently drive a 1960 Cadillac as my only vehicle. I've pretty much only ever driven classic cars most of my life. This Cadillac is currently factory stock and even running on cross-plys. I'm slowly rectifying the neglect from previous owners and getting all its system working. There are a few jobs left to do and there are some upgrades planned too.
1960 CADILLAC POV DRIVING

I appreciate it's a little long but indulge me if you will. POV video; driving my 1960 Cadillac on a dull cold spring day in the UK. The roads get narrower and narrower towards the end.

Having just bought the Cadillac and finding it to be a very tight squeeze into my driveway we had to remove a post and shave the hedge down to get the right angle of approach.

Our latest acquisition takes the place of the TR4. The next few months will be spent tinkering and sorting out minor issues during the weekends. Hopefully a European road trip this summer.

I thought it was time I did a 360 video of my TR4. This is the car that replaced my '64 Buick Wildcat as my daily driver. It was a bit of an extreme swing on the size scale but it's a lot of fun and I don't need to plan ahead when parking in the city! please note the car has just been started on a cold day in the UK and the choke is on (it's not burning oil). She's got about 29000 miles on a fu...

You bought from US?
Sounds like it needs a TUNE-UP !!! ~~
Hello I also live in the UK and I have been thinking about importing a 1966 Cadillac DeVille Convertible for years and using it maybe more often than a weekend car. However, I have never owned a classic car or worked on a car more than replacing an air filter. I have a few questions about owning one and I'll put them in a list Do you frequently run into issues with speed bumps regarding the ground clearance and wheelbase and if so, is it difficult to navigate the issue? How difficult is it to park in a regular car park that would be at a shop or workplace? How do you stop it from rusting? I'm not sure if you have a garage big enough for it but I'd have to keep it outside under a sheet on a driveway 1 inch shorter than the car. Is it expensive to buy and ship parts and do you have to do it often? The model I'm looking at has issues with the timing chain and cover wearing down quickly Is the cost of petrol and I'm assuming lead substitute a lot more extortionate than the cost of running, taxing and MOTing a modern car?
Makes my want to curl up in the back seat with an old quilt lol
Is it gonna be for sale in 2030? If it is i will buy it then! I swear on my life
Yeah.. Bold strong caddy.. bubble back glass Unique lines ; dad had a 62 sedan got hit in rear quarter panel guy that hit him was already being sued so dad said he will fix himself he did just that & somebody ask my dad if he wanted parts car.. As it turned out my dad said I am driving parts car & restore yours being a convertible same 62 model..
You should have let your daughter or your wife drive it instead of selling it
Driveway? Looked more like you parked it in the yard! 😂 What's wrong with the exhaust? It sounds awful!
American steel, memories of when US parking lots were full of them. But the last car I'd drive on a rainy day.
Is still for sale?🎉😊
Nicely preserved example of a 1960 Caddy 😀
Love the Caddy. And love the Matt Monro music.
I see 8 windows
Well done you. Doesn't change what the model is called.
We had the 59.
Back in 1960, you paid for the best and you got more than your moneys worth. Not so today.
Omg!! Correct floor mats you never see them anymore!
You need a couple of fiat 500 like little tugboats connected to your aircraft carrier 😅
Badass
The 1960 model was the epitome of mid-century GLAM and then the 1961 model came along and looks like total crap!
I love the color. I would call it French Vanilla. Imagine the cost of mass producing these today.
I like your driving videos 👍
Back when caddies were owned by the rich, and not posers on massive loans driving beat up ones lol
I miss those big cars. Even in the 90's there were some big cars. No mas. Poverty is obvious, even though nobody talks about it. Just keep this math equation handy, of all variables and constants. By 2030 you will own nothing.
Well done. Moving to Ireland next year and bringing my pristine 1996 Buick Roadmaster Station Wagon with me. It WILL be an experience.
Hey Bill who owned that ' 61 sedan DeVille on Brooks in ' 70 ?
I love the turning lights on the fenders !
incredible. What's it like owning and driving a car like this in the UK ?
Beautiful car! But I would say, this is not a POV drive, more of a DDCVFT, or even a MMKO !!! LOL
When I see POV in the title of anything that is not using a head mounted camera I select do not recommend.
Wow. what's the question you get asked the most ?
I've been trying to find someone like you Saul for ages !!! Classic American car owner who knows their stuff and happy to document and share it. Just joined your FB page and will start to enjoy your videos/ experiences. Thank you
Looks about 19 ft long and 6 ft 7 wide makes a Jag Mk10 look small!
Yes that’s about right and yes as big as a MK10 is it’s definitely smaller than the Caddy
5.72 meters long and 2.05 wide !
Interior looks to be in fantastic shape. When I was in England in early 1999, I was impressed to see an early 70s Lincoln Town Car parked in someone’s driveway, haha
In the late 90s I looked at one for sale In Wallington, Surrey. It was only going for £1200 still kicking myself!
How do they even get these big boats across the pond?, was there cadillac factories in Britain?
What is that car worth in today’s market. I just bought one.
How tricky is it to drive on uk roads? Do you find LHD a pain?
Not at all, the only inconvenience is the Drive Thru or parking barriers. But you just throw her into park and scoot across if you don’t have a passenger.
Dart 👍🏻💯🇦🇺love the Fords
Not keen on the brown and cream, l had a two tone blue 375 and a mate had a red and white, good memory after 60 years.........................including vat!
Driving this old school American Car in a modern day parking lot in Europe. It's like driving a freaking truck. A REAL truck. Not the tiny Eurotoy trucks.
It's actually not that bad till you try parking in a big city like London or Paris. Parking is so tight that you need to plan ahead otherwise no bigger than a long wheelbase Mercedes Sprinter. But there's nothing quite like catching your reflection in store windows... 😊
@@oldcarsnstuff Makes a 16 ft 11 Mk10 JAG look like a fisher price toy lol
I had always wanted a 1959 model Cadillac until I saw a 1960, such a gorgeous shape I eventually bought a flat top version.
1960 is the year Cadillacs began seeing the toned down styling of Bill Mitchell
Love a flattop
beauty
Absolutely made my day seeing this driving around in 21st century traffic. Credit to you for keeping such an incredible machine and driving it where people can appreciate it!
Saw one on the roads the other day, Beautiful old cars!
A powder blue 59 or 60 2 dr Cadillac has been sat static on the driveway of a house just near Sutton Grammar School, Sutton Surrey, for 15 years. Never been moved just looked at it yesterday it looks solid!
Most 4-speeds came with the gated shifter. I noticed this had a Hurst Shifter and Hurst badging on the rear. Is this a stock option, or a conversion maybe?
This car has been converted to 455 cubes and a 4 speed with a posi 3.42 rear end.
These cars look ridiculous in flesh. Especially on European roads
You're the first to say that, most people think they look amazing.
@@oldcarsnstuff Looks amazing to me!
in the 90's and early 00's no one wanted one, and now they are expensive as hell!
LPG on a 455 !
Yes, I fitted it. 18mpg on LPG resulting on a cost equivalent of about 32/33 MPG. With both gas and LPG tanks fuelled gave me a combined range of up to 650/700 miles. When the float sunk on my carb and started flooding I was able to just switch over to LPG and carry on driving.
@@oldcarsnstuff the next cool thing is yes i also have a buick 1964 and a 1960 cadillac . the difference is only that is a skylark custom sports wagon and a de ville !
@@a.k.a.A.E. very nice combo, a friend I’ve mine has a Skylark wagon. I think ‘68.
Great job ! Beautiful ride !
I love wildcats expecially 66 445 with hanger muffler factory headers tunnel ram with 4 jet 445 torque roller cams on head trans break for lauch hang the slip off muffler it becomes a DRAGSTER beat chevells 454 and camaros hoped up i left em in the dust passening gear at 120 cmon now the best buddy
Ummmm Say something about it? History? Features? Engine? Sales? Like a history professor teaching about George Washington by putting his image on the wall and having students stare at it...
