    What happens if you want to apply for the PhD lab that you're currently getting your research experience in as an undergrad? Does the PI write to himself/herself...?

    • @kimberlysroadtophd
      @kimberlysroadtophd 2 года назад

      That’s amazing - congratulations! Yes, definitely have the PI submit a letter. It’s not necessarily to himself only, but there will be a committee that reads it - usually the department of [insert concentration here]. I def recommend more than one letter from someone else who can attest to other experiences/attributes as well.

    • @kimberlysroadtophd
      @kimberlysroadtophd 2 года назад

      Thank you! It's pretty important. Most of the STEM courses at Howard require a lot of math, so it's to make sure you're competent in math courses up to and including Calculus I for the summer bridge program.

  • @khanaemiller4736
    @khanaemiller4736 2 года назад

    Did you have to take the Placement test ? Is there a minimum score needed to pass. Also how does Karsh Scholars differentiate between semi finalist and finalist?

    • @kimberlysroadtophd
      @kimberlysroadtophd 2 года назад

      Yes, I did. I believe you need an 80 to pass, but your score is compared to what everyone else scores. Definitely try your best to answer as many questions correctly. A semi finalist does not make it to the interview stage. A finalist makes it to TRACKS. A scholar gets an offer.

I am a twin and even though we are not rooming together right now, we are panning on moving in together next year or junior year.
