Pete's Outdoors adventures
Великобритания
Добавлен 1 ноя 2011
I just love The Great Outdoors! From day hikes in my local area to backpacking & wildcamping through to winter mountaineering. Last year, on a whim, I got myself a cheap SUP, paddleboard, not knowing if I'd take to it!
Well a year later I'm onto my second more intermediate board, with wetsuit & neoprene everything!!
I'm now filming everything through my GoPro & Samsung S23 Ultra. Though I've decided once I reach 100 subscribers, to celebrate I'll be adding a drone to my filming equipment!
So close now, so if you enjoy any of my content, please subscribe 🙏
You'll get some random clips from gigs I go, & some spooky stuff too. Though I'm an open minded sceptic!
I occasionally do history bits from the local area too.
Thanks for stopping by & reading/watching. 😊

Annual wander round Whitfield Valley in autumn 🍂 #nature #naturelovers #explore
I'm very fortunate to live next door to a nature reserve, but it's not just the reserve, it then goes onto Chatterley Whitfield Heritage Country Park, which is equally imo as beautiful!
This is 2024s version.
I try & do these seasonally for the Facebook group for the nature reserve & valley I'm in, as the group is mainly photos of the amazing wildlife, especially birds we have, of which there is many!
For anyone interested it's just called, Ford Green Nature Reserve, & if you're interested in birds, then you'll find some stunning photos there. It's a private group, but you know what to do should you wish to join, same as any other FB group.

Knype Pool investigation, Pt 1, the reccy #paranormal #ghosts #haunted #exploremore
Просмотров 32Месяц назад
So, as we're now well into October, it's time to try out some spooky outdoor adventures! As the title says, this was just a reccy, as though I've been here countless times, I'd never thought of camping, that was until I heard it's rich in paranormal history which continues to this day!! I've recently added a few ghost or Spirit detecting tools if you like, I have a Rem Pod, flashing catballs, d...
Finding Knights Templar tombstones in a very unlikely place! #knightstemplar #history #Biddulph
Просмотров 161Месяц назад
So I've been aware of these tombstones for a couple of months, but only got round to checking them out yesterday, & man I was not disappointed! As I say in the video I'll be getting as much info as possible before actually going on an alternative history tour of this area & if true, well this could change the history of Biddulph Moor of all places in a massive way! I've got so many projects on ...
Investigating 2 old houses within 5 minutes from home #hauntedhouse #handed #explore
Просмотров 1042 месяца назад
So I had a spare hour & just went literally to two very old houses, virtually opposite each other, & at Ford Green Hall the Spirit Talker app just went absolutely bonkers, most I've ever had out of it ever, & all under 10 minutes! Then across the road to another old house, where I got just 2 words in 6 minutes! Though they were very on the ball words, I must admit! Though, as I say in the video...

So I've been aware of this place tucked away in the Shropshire countryside for probably over a decade, just never got round to going. That was until August Bank Holiday Monday, & boy was I not disappointed! I can most definitely recommend it as a day out to those who love the outdoors!! It's also apparently got some ghost stories attached, hence why I couldn't resist firing up the Spirit Talker...

Second favourite route up Scafell (not Pike)
Very interesting mate!
Thanks Matt! It may take a few months before we get to the bottom of this mystery, but it's going to be an interesting journey! Something I didn't mention in the message I just sent, but guess what? The Bateman family are also involved!! It seems they were involved in virtually everything during their time!!!
Went with my Dad in the early 90's. Was closed but went in through an adjoining property and ducked between 2 large gates. The moss and plant life was amazing. Very wild, and no safety railing. Sat on the cliff side and Sister got a bit scared. Very lovely to see it open again. My Dad had traveller friends live there in the 60's or 70's and my Dad said there was a tunnel leading under the river but was in poor condition and partially flooded.
So cool how u can share this gift with the doggo
They were brilliant at Latitude.😊😊
Wow that was crazy how much activity you picked up at Ford Green Hall, and so much of it seemed so relevant! Good stuff mate!
@redmonkey001 Nice one fella, appreciate it 👍 Told you it went absolutely bonkers!! And then, virtually nothing across the road! Though I've since found out the fire at the abandoned house happened quite recently, & well after it was abandoned! So, very possible it's simply a very old abandoned house! But man is Ford Green Hall active! I think there's the potential for half a dozen or so spirits there!!
exciting stuff Pete. looking forward to your visit in the dark !
@carolynmountford6254 Thanks Caz! 😊 Got some potentially exciting news about actually going into the Hall on Halloween to join a professional group!
Saw them when they were nickelbacks support. So unbelivebly good.
@chrismichel7750 That's how I discovered them, though not supporting Nickleback, but supporting Frank Turner early 2023, they blew me away! I've been watching live music regularly for nearly 30 years & have seen many great support bands, but none as good as the LWs! Earlier this year, I saw them on their own tour & they were even better!! I went to that gig on my own, after I ordered a taxi on the app & it was so so late, I was literally the only person left outside the venue & cursing the taxi company, that was until Thom Rylance walked past with his gf, & I just had to thank him for such a great gig! In the end, he made me feel special just for going!! We had about a 4-5 minute convo, & he was so humble and appreciative of my support, as I say it was special! So the late taxi actually did me a huge favour!
The 1 mile walk that leads to the cave is aligned with the summer solstice, before trees grew to large the solstice sunrise was supposed to light up the cave. Beyond back of the cave in the field behind , there was a small chapel where templar knights were buried and apparently treasure was also found. The grave covers (you probably know this) can be found in St Lawrence's church yard. The Batemans used to hold seances and rituals in the cave and were part of an occult circle, that whole area reeks of mystery. Nice vid keep it up mate👍
Thank you for taking the time to comment, really appreciate it! I'm off paddleboarding at 5am tomorrow so it's bedtime. However, I'll send a much more in-depth reply tomorrow when I get home, as I've got some really creepy wildcamps coming up very soon! More tomorrow....
Yeah so thanks for watching & especially subscribing, I've subscribed back & will starr watching your vids through the coming evenings! Yes I was aware of most of what you said, but didn't know the Bateman's were as into the occult as much as they were! Which now just adds more evidence, not that it was needed just how haunted the Grange is! I've got a few backpacks coming up, some just in The Peak District, but a couple of more spooky ones, the first being The Cloud. Now I'd planned on camping up there anyway, just for the views, but after just a little research it seems a fair bits happened on there in the past! Human sacrifice, a drummer boy got murdered & is supposedly haunting the hill, or at least you can apparently sometimes here him drumming! So that's planned for pretty much the next weekend we get half decent weather, so hopefully very soon🤞 My other is going to be either on Saddleworth Moors or very close to them, Blackstone Edge, as back in my 20s I lived in Littleborough for about 4 years. It's technically part of Gtr Manchester, but on the very northern edge, as it's just surrounded by the big rolling hills & moors of the Pennines, & just from my time up there, even though I wasn't into the outdoors back then (too busy partying & watching bands in Manchester lol, though it was my early 20s, well over 20 years ago now,. However, I made some brilliant friends who I've stayed in touch with & one is actually a best friend, & I usually go up & stay with him for a few days every year. So now I'm getting into all this camping in spooky locations, he's happily said I can use his as a bit of a base, plus he'll drop me off & pick me up in the mornings, so yeah, they are the two spooky ones I've got coming up, but The Cloud will definitely be a warm up for Saddleworth & the surrounding area, as there's a lot that's happened in that region over many years! So we'll see what happens!! Any tips are most welcome, as I'm no ghost hunter, though I do plan on filling a short RUclips vid basically asking my subscribers what they want to see. Do they want me to carry on as I am with lots of beautiful scenery & mountain stuff, with paddleboarding obviously thrown in, clips from gigs I go & other random stuff I film, or do they prefer the spooky side of things or just more backpack/wildcamp & paddleboarding vids with both cinematic filming & my vlogs. Though I definitely will carry on camping in spooky areas just like I will beautiful areas, but I'd like to know what they prefer, though going by views alone I think the spooky/weird stuff is definitely popular! I only really started taking it seriously this year. Got my GoPro last year, had to suss that out, then what was once a chore, editing is now a something I really enjoy, though that's ever since I discovered Power Director, a brilliant video editor, especially for the price, it's worth the money alone for the vast amount of uncopywrited music on there! There's literally a genre for every mood, & if you click on any of the many genres then there's at least 50 songs if not more for that genre, which includes both horror & spooky as well as others that would fit this type of vid, having said all that, most of it is vlogs anyway!! But for me at least, it's the best video editor out there! Oh thanks for answering the Biddulph question, as to whether it's Stoke or Staffs Moorlands, I always thought it was Staffs Moorlands, now I know! So I appreciate that! I'm nearing 100 subscribers, still a tiny ammont, but as soon as I reach 100 to celebrate I'll be adding a drone, just to give my vids another aspect! Anyway I'll leave it there for now, but will look forward to checking your content out in the coming evenings, & leaving comments & asking questions no doubt!
Get yersen a flint and steel or ferro rod then you'll always have the means to blaze up, also Biddle is Staffs moorlands. Nice vid 👍
Haha it's funny watching this again, with my budget action cam with terrible sound & no horizon levelling as well as this was my first cheap paddleboard from Amazon. Now things are so much different, GoPro Hero 10 & I'm now onto my second more intermediate board, which is has much better manoeuvrability & is much quicker too!
where did you get in from, i am looking at a campsite near to tillswater and looks like the river runs alongside the site
I'm not sure where Tillswater is. I just had a look on Google Maps & can't find it. However, I get on at the very end of The Cauldon Canal, my local canal & 3 weeks today is my big challenge day, paddling the full 19 miles of The Cauldon, it's not long as canals go, but it's still going to be my biggest challenge, in length anyway! Practicing twice a week minimum. Be out tonight, hopefully get a sunset too 🤞 But I'll be getting on the Cauldon where it splits from the Trent & Mersey in the middle of Stoke & paddling the 19 miles to that final lock, which drops you onto the River Churnet, it's easy to get on & off your board just below that final lock, but there's a few miles at least where you'd struggle to get on. I've only been as far as Froghall Wharfe, as I was going with the flow, & had to go back against the current for a few miles, which I managed 2/3s on my feet, but the final third had me on my knees lol. But again, depending on which direction you're going, getting on & off at Froghall is easy too! But I do plan on paddling further down the river before the end of the season! But as of now, they're the two I know, where the main branch of The Cauldon Canal ends, & Froghall Wharfe, I say main branch as the Cauldon does split, as there's the Leek branch, which is an absolute delight to paddle!!
Just checked the video, it must have been one of the last one I filmed on my high end budget action cam, it was alright, but compared to my GoPro, it's night & day

Thanks mate! It was a fantastic local wildcamp! 👍
Thoroughly enjoyed that mate, you got some beautiful shots! Hope you enjoyed my water!
Really glad you enjoyed it fella, & your water was most refreshing!
Stunning mate I live literally a stones throw from the reserve .It’s great to see a local bushcrafty dude.
Thanks mate, really appreciate the comment! Yes, I certainly don't take virtually living next door to the nature reserve for granted!
True talent. Could watch all day long!
Me too mate, he's inspired me to take up juggling again!!
👌👌
Bloody hell pete very proffesional...i like it ..
Thanks Wayne, really appreciate that! Currently editing as we speak, the 1st entry for my Staffordshire Mooorlands diaries, gonna be lots of entry's, but hopefully get this one complete in the next day or two, a mixture of vlogs & cinematic landscape shots from last Saturdays hike. But teaching myself editing has been like learning a new language!!
Go on Pete !
Stay free my friend. Saw your reddit comments and also review of Akaso camera. Just got mine for some camping vids. Your vids make the camera look great! Here's to future adventures.
That was an excellent and entertaining vid, cheers fellas!
Really glad you enjoyed it my friend! Greatly appreciate the like & comment too 🙏
Was a pleasure helping you with your hobby :)
You were brillant mate, pleasure having you on my channel & hopefully not for the last time!!
It was my last evening paddle session of the year, & I certainly went out with a good un! Decided I need a wetsuit, though now. Went out on Saturday in normal clothes but with me wetsuit boots, but didn't feel comfortable at all, so I'm gonna have to invest in one, hopefully get a decent one in January sales so I can continue going out through the colder months. But this one was phenomenal with the sunset, & such peace & tranquillity!!
Lovely video that and very interesting, thank you Pete. Enjoy cleaning those boots!
Thanks fella, really appreciate that :-} Ill reply to your telegram message in about half an hour!
I used to be married to a girl from Monterrey, but sadly it didn't last. But still, I got to experience wonderful México!
Oye que hacías en mi México In English What were you doing in my Mexico?
A mountain,all of your own.
All for just 5 minutes, but yeah, the busiest mountain in the UK, where folk queue to get that summit shot in spring/summer/autumn I had all to myself for a few minutes! A rare thing indeed! Plus why I only set foot on this magnificent mountain in winter only, & weekdays at that!!
@@petespeake6270 I'm going to have to do that soon, before my ankle gives up. Summer is easy, but cold, ahhh fcuk, age.
