Remember: you can just as easily take a $38000 XL 4x4 with ZERO options and park it in a rock-strewn field, surrounded by swirling dust and sagebrush, and call it "offroad." Suddenly its a must-have if you dare to go off pavement! And people will pay thousands more! Lol

How it performs compared to a base 4x4 crewcab? Ummm, exactly the same lol? Lets face it; specialty names have more profit! Real world "off road" ability has not changed, even though all the box stickers like FX4, Tremor and now Rattler have. This is getting rediculous. Nobody ever does a real world comparison of any of these mundane "packages" to see if there is truly a night and day difference in any of them. Because, other than maybe a slightly more aggressive tire tread, they know there ISN'T a difference. The only upgrade that really offers more than your standard F150 4x4 is the Raptor. All this smoke and mirrors in between is just fluff.

If the base model is around 45K and the dealerships don't price rape customers, this truck should do very well.

How long is production type for a base model f250?
