Pour the gear oil out ( recycle ) Remove all the gears first by removing top circlip and undoing bolt for the change knob. Take out the change knob and gears. Remove the circlip holding the last gear ( can be difficult ) Remove the front shaft circlip and now you can tap or press out the shaft.

use a two jaw bearing puller and attach it to the gear with the two jaws hooked on both sides
