Note, do not run these with the filter, use the cap instead, the filter will allow unmetered air into the intake and will cause a lean condition (Caught it a little bit after using it, car was running a little lean and after I replaced the filter for the cap the mixture was correct again)
What’d you do with the old hoses/ports the old hoses were connected to?
The oil catch is added inline, so there is a line going into the catch can and one from the catch can back to the place the old hose fitted
Where the OEM intake hose there before , so I block it off ?
? The OEM intake has 3 hoses the catch can goes on the hose between the oil overflow and the intake so you don't cap anything off
@@arthlowback9202 so remove the buttom intake hose with the angle , remove the angle that has the nozzle and cap it?
@@PlayTrickshots I never had the OEM intake on the car since I got it so I am not sure if there is anything you'd do different for it. From what I know you simply add the catch can in line on the hose that goes from the oil neck to the intake, there would be no capping anything, as there shouldn't be any hose slots open after instal
how loud is it in person?
and this is catless right?
@@yes5431 the pipe I got was the cat one, it sounds mildly louder than stock, you'd have to replace the catback to get any significant loudness
Apparently the air filter creates a vacuum leak and it would be better to cap the oil catch can.
That is a good point. cause what it does allow I found out, is have unmetered air to bypass the MAF if you hook it up to the stock oil vacuum line. So capping it or relocating the hook up point to before the MAF is definitely the way to go.
CAP IT. DONT TRY ANYTHING ELSE.
@@devonswindell9735 yup ... Simplest solution
That intake filter is really cool, where could I get one?
You can get it on amazon for like 360 bucks, but can probably find it for sale on ebay reasonably cheap, it isn't a great intake in my opinion, it sucks in very very hot air from inside the engine bay. I ended up changing it to a AEM Cold air intake style one
I got the eBay aem style one and it was a complete piece of garbage. I ended up only using the filter and aluminum tube coming from throttle body. Also don't run the filter on any catch can.
@@devonswindell9735 thanks for the head up!
Please share where you acquired the unit.
I got it from Ebay, but I can't find the kit I bought only the adapter it's self.
Where I can buy this ? eBay don’t carry whole kit ?
:( wish they had a Sohn Adapter for the Series 2...
Did you get a cel after removing the air pump?
Yes, it used to come on every so often, but now with Versatuner I have the ability to "mute" that CEL from my ECU
Wicked hand signals, man! :) Do you watch many ChrisFix videos?
Definitely, he is pretty awesome! I watch every video. I think the gloves I got are the same he uses too haha
Not trying to be a dick but putting music over video made the before and after shots pointless
haha just realized I forgot to cut the track, thanks will fix that one
There should be just the car sound now, Thanks :)
Hey man, what’d you put on the exhaust to connect the 3” to the 2” stock catback?
It was temporary till I got the 3" catback The way I did it, and it held up, was using some heavy duty metal zip ties and tightening them down as much as possible, High heat resist red RTV is your friend here, I'd suggest about 4 to 6 zip ties though I do suggest getting the catback whenever you can as that is the piece the mid pipe was design to mount with
Arth Lowback thanks heaps! Eventually I’ll get the turboxs catback but I don’t have it right now so I’ll be trying my best to keep it together or I may just wait till i get the catback to install both. Thanks !
@@wajihfarah3064 Yeah, I had to install so I could pass emissions (aka not have all the problems the clogged cat was giving me and the CEL), but if I could I'd wait till you get the catback, although if your cat is clogged I'd suggest taking it out and not running the car with it, it can really mess up your engine
All I hear is the fucking music
