Thank you sleepy Sal, great video with detail. Amazing ! 👍🏼
Amazing video! I love how much detail you’ve added. I feel so calm & confident in being able to move my new bed with no issues 🤗
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this! Exactly what I needed.
You're welcome!
Excellent video. Clear and concise. Thank you very much sir
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Sal!!! This method worked driving from Buffalo, NY to Charlotte, NC. Only thing is I bought a cheap mattress cover from Uhaul and there were rips everywhere by the end, invest in a good mattress cover for long trips!
Nice work!
This was so informative and makes so much sense!-Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Driving a Q temperpedic from Carolina to Texas. Think I’ll be okay with this method. Am obviously about the usual stuff but also concerned it will mess with the foam integrity.
What about the police 🚓🚨?
Hi, most laws require you to have a "secure load." Many vehicles come with luggage racks on top. Carrying luggage, ladders, bikes, and canoes on top of vehicles is common place. Your load must be secure.
This method worked perfectly well on an hour drive over the highway. The mattress was snug all the way through without any issues. I am sure this will work for a longer haul too. Thanks Sal!
Great to hear!
Man, I wish you were my uncle. Amazing instruction. Thanks, tio.
Happy to help
That was very good!
Transported my bed from Michigan to Texas. Over 20 hour drive and the bed made it ! It did get rained on as I was leaving Michigan.. thanks !
What is the length of the ratchet strap
15 foot long, as mentioned in the video. Thanks for watching!
good video, thanks for SHaring
Great info
Glad it was helpful!
I like to be safe than sorry and I like how you set this up. Thx. I will be going on fwys ..only about less than 2 hrs away..
Hope it went well!
Thank you for this 🙏🏾
These straps don't lock? Most straps have a lock feature that should be engaged once the load is secure.
Hi, yes, they do lock. I explain in the video how to unlock them to release. For further security, you can take the tail end of the strap and tie it to a point to further secure. I have never had a strap release, and I have done thousands of mattresses in the manner described in the video. I'm not saying that it can't happen, just not likely.
Thanks great info👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so so much Sal! GOD bless you!🙏🏾
You are so welcome
Very helpful, save me 2 cross bar that never works on my SEDAN when you transport mattress or few plywood on rooftop
Glad it helped
Thank you very much! Now I can transport my bed when I move using my sedan! I'll have to think about the wooden baseboard but it might be time for a new one
I’ve moved 2 mattresses and box springs with this method. It has never failed me
Sal is a champ, moved my new mattress on 1.5 hour drive over two bridges. No lost flying mattress, made it to destination, ratchet straps huge help, great piece of mind.
Thanks for the help man. I just moved a king bed to put in our guest room on top of my Nissan Armada. Worked like a charm.
Glad it helped
Thanks so much for this video.
You are so welcome!
This worked for me, thanks!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much, you are the best 👏👏👏
You're welcome 😊
Can you go on the highway?
Sure, follow all speed limits.
What do you think about a full size mattress going on top of a coupe (Toyota 86) though? It would just be a 20 minute drive. Mattress Warehouse wants $100 to drive a mattress 20 mins to me which is absolutely outrageous & out of the question...
No problem at all if you follow my video. Good luck!
Phenomenal video!! Thank you sir
My pleasure!
Thank you for the very informative video. I do wish you would provide links to where you bought your ratchet straps and mattress bags.
Harbor freight for the ratchet straps. Uhaul Sella mattress bags or just ask a mattress store.
I've got the straps and wanted to do it right. I didn't even consider the door or the placements of the ratchet strap at all. Thank you.
Glad I could help!
God help me. I hope this works.
Thank you so much for this video. I had the help from a girl friend to put the mattress and box spring on top of my car. And, I was able to drive more than 200 km, on the highway, at a relatively fast pace, with a bit of rain. There was no issue at all. Thanks again.
Excellent video Sleepy Sal. I could've used this a couple of days ago. 👍🇺🇸👍
Fantastic video. Clear, concise, comprehensive.
So what if its a awkward chair
Sorry, it's not my expertise. I wish you the best!
Thanks so much, Sal! Just moved our mattress. It was a windy day and our mattress wasn't going anywhere 👍👍
Glad to help!
This method worked like a charm. I hauled my old mattress and box spring to the dump for $50 after buying the ratchet straps and paying the dump fee. It would have cost close to $200 for a junk removal service to do it. Sleepy Sal for the win!
Glad it helped
Sooner you’ll post in 2024
You sir are a life saver 🙏🏼 thank you so so much for this video
Thank you sleepy Sal !
Any time!
Very inexpensive how much ??
You can find these straps at Harbor Freight for around $8.00
Well, thank you for making your video Sal. Well, thank you for making your video. Sal used your advice. It was perfect your play-by-play or step-by-step video. I use the exact same straps from Harbor freight to take an extra long twin mattress on a sedan car. I used all four of the Harbor freight straps the exact ones that you used. We’re only 799 at Harbor freight so that was cool and I took your advice to put something underneath my antenna receiver I was driving 75 miles an hour on the freeway had no problems. Thank you.
Thanks for your nice comment!
Thanks
Great video and MUCH NEEDED! So glad I found this!!
Thanks for your comment!
Great video
this video saved me from renting a truck or trailer, plus the associated increased gas costs. I also put the metal frame on top of the box spring. used 4-15 ft rachet straps. drove 100mi, 99% interstate, mostly 55 mph, brief stints slightly above 55. we did this on a sunday so traffic was light. thx Sleepy Sal
