Mojave Road Difficult downhill section. Rock springs in a 3rd Gen 4Runner
Просмотров 2 тыс.3 года назад
Going down this very rutted out section of the Mojave Road. It was alot harder than the videos I had seen of it. @4runnerfiend www.ebay.com/sch/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=&_ssn=charlesmckenna3332012&_sop=15

Not a bad solution, super cheap and clean.
Is it easy to take off? Cause I know you have to take off the handle to remove the plastic tailgate cover. I’m just wondering if you can unscrew the bolt all the way and the toggle bolt will fall off?
yes it is easy to unscrew, just have to keep pressure on the toggle. IE pull a little out while unscrewing. Toggle falls in but if your taking the cover off anyway it's easy to retrieve. I've take it off a few times already no problems.
Awesome, thanks for the reply!
Thx was looking all over for this
yeah no prob. its so easy and cheap to DIY this. when I first did it I did the cobra knot, but then went back and did a double cobra which is way better. the shape fits the hand better. good luck.
Nice
Nice, thanks for sharing. I need to do this...
Good work. I think that is the slowest I’ve ever seen a vehicle decent that “obstacle “. You set a new record. 😂
thanks! my biggest concern was not rolling over.. again.
What size tires are you running? Sick rig man
that was my friends runner. Pretty sure they were 295 70 17 maybe 305
You did a fine job, Charles. We came through the weekend after you. This section was fun in a nervous way. We had a 4runner in my group too and he was holding on with both hands too :)
What was so difficult
videos don't do it justice always. if you have ever wheeled at all. this was steep and very rutted out. if you notice I almost rolled over at one point. Also this was more of a informative video, so people can look at the conditions of this part of the trail. Going into this section we were under the impression that it was much easier. We have to find a bypass route because most of the group was not comfortable with the conditions.
Hey man very nice work here. And your rig looks great. What rock sliders and rear bumper/swingout are you running? Good stuff!
Thanks man! The Rock sliders are custom build from a local shop in San Diego. I had them go off some of the popular ones like BAMF, and 4x4innovations. The Rear bumper is Savage Offroad, however he doesn't make the swing out anymore.
Do you have the coordinates of this section?
I’ll have to see if I can find it
You took your time with commitment and without damaging your rig! My hat's off to you. Great job
thanks man. deep ruts and steep downhill + independent front suspension= rolled rig, lots of times.
Nice. My wife and I were supposed to do this this year, but will have to wait until later next year. Which direction does it run downhill, east to west? I plan on doing it west to east.
We ran it east to west. Downhill is east to west however there is a bypass that is totally flat. super fun trip however there was a ton of side by side ATV's. They run tours out there probably saw about 100 of them. I'm surprised no one talks about it on the RUclips videos. Unless we caught a wired weekend.
So what suspension is he running
that's me. Rear is LC 8 wrap springs and the LC black Tokio Black shocks. No Sway bar in rear and Rokmen lower control arms. Front is 5th gen springs on Tundra Bilstein 5100's and Bilt Right uniball UCA. Sway bar is disconnected here. Thanks for looking! let me know if you have any other questions @4runnerfiend on insta!
Excellent
Thanks!
Wooo
Rad!
Bad ass 4runner..
yeah my buddies rig is set up nice. I think he has a long travel set up.
Nice. What is the tire size on the 3gen?
265 70 17 BFG KO2
Is that a Millennial with a Boomer Box on the roof?
