@@roberthughey4188Unfortunately it comes down to trial & error. When you practice defense, you’ll lose,,, a lot. But eventually you’ll get a feel for what set ups & situations favor side stepping. If you learn Frame data, the best times is when you’re at +/-0 to about -4. A side Step will avoid a lot of situations.

@@roberthughey4188 some things aren’t punishable, other things take time & practice. If you’re struggling so much that you’re commenting about it, I promise you’re doing fine, just give it time. When in doubt 4,3 is always a decent punish & ws 4,4 is a good punish since they’re both safe on block even if you mess it up.

@@roberthughey4188 go into his move list & look up moves that say approach opponent. There’s like, 6 different graps you can learn. I have other guides that point them out as well.

@@roberthughey4188 depends. If they’re slow, you just gotta practice reacting to them. It’s sucks & it’s boring but that’s the start… also I’ve learned that staying active in the fight can really help with reaction time, like if you’re not attacking try to always be moving.

@@NotSHADii_24 I’ve done a couple pressure guides, one in my starter guide & another dedicated to pressure which is the same thing. You don’t gotta do everything exact but it gives a general idea of how to go about it.

@@roberthughey4188 oddly, he’s actually faster than most, his best moves are mostly around 14-20 frames, running 4, db3, db4, d3,4, etc. but he’s gotta get in & aside from run 4, his fastest moves come out around 22 frames which is a bit slow, but if you can learn to be a bit patient & find your timing, it should help turn things around just a bit

Oh, and there are also additional routes: RFF 3~4, dash f2, 3, 4, (micro delay) u4, 4, dash RFF f3, 4~3 (83) - unreliable since 3,4 often whiffs after f2 if your backlash is too late or f2 is to early/late and the following u4,4 is very finicky as well (but you can replace u4,4 with RFS uf4). RFF 3~4, u3, uf3+4f, 1, dash d4,4, dash RFF 3~4, dash ub3 (84) - quite reliable. can be done with Hunting Hawk ender (for 77 damage; Lightning Halberd seems to be impossible or super hard as with majority of combos where it goes after 8 hits). And d4,4 can be replaced with b3 for tornado (81 damage with Backlash into ub3 and 80 with Lightning Halber ender). This combo and the combo in the comment above are from guide by Science.

@@swankygamez69420 yes, it feels like now it's always Lightning Halberd or Backlash into Overhead Kick enders. In Tekken 7, the Hunting Hawk ender was really cool and used more often. By the way, in Tekken 8, the Hunting Hawk, apart from being harder to connect after 7 hits overall, in some combos can miss with the last hit, but you can replace it with uf3,4f, RFS uf3 variation to connect one more hit.

​@@swankygamez69420 let me know what you think about it. i found that it can be done easier by skipping the f2 after the backlash, and it seems like you need a micro delay before RFS uf3, or the opponent will turn face upwards before falling (even if you get him to flip with f4 before that). And if done correctly, b3 will be guaranteed on all options (and will launch on normal getup and all attack options). Correct me if I got something wrong.

@@VasiliyLim yeah I didn’t know about the 2,4, f4 at the time idk why I didn’t mention the ff3 after WS3+4,3 & I probably didn’t do the RFS UF3 cuz it’s the same but slightly slower as RFF FF3 n just didn’t think about it. N I thought I’d just do a video about his unblockable cuz a lot of Hwo players prolly don’t even know it’s a thing to try let along can do for good damage

@@swankygamez69420 please do. i haven't tried it off-axis, but when aligned it seems pretty consistent. I also recently found a nice variation of a combo after backturned RFF 3 (was watching basuka's video and experimenting) BT RFF 3, f4,b3, dash f2,f3, uf3+4f, uf4, dash RFF f3, 4~3. it also gives maximum damage (85 or 86 with JFLH), but is much simpler, in my opinion. makes me want to use backturned more 😄

@@VasiliyLim to answer your questions, lol, the first combo, yeah ff4f woulda worked but then rage wouldn’t have worked… there’s other ways to optimize but not without making it less consistent. Which is my answer to your 2nd question. It wasn’t optimized but I want to keep things as consistent as possible cuz it’s very common to drop a combo & then get K.O.ed once the opponent stands up. Now I’m at the ranks where I may want to start making those inconsistent, optimized combos just that little bit more consistent cuz 1-5 extra damage will begin to matter.
